30 Sectors: A Community Project for Boom (Limit Removing) (Closed)

DISCORD SERVER: https://discord.gg/pB2YdPRkEB Sectors, the fundamental building blocks of every doom map. We tend to use a lot of them in our maps, but, what if we didn't... Now is your chance to find out, the goal is to make decent looking maps without using more then 30 sectors. Here are the rules: 1: Use Boom format for your maps. 2: Usage of the special actions in map 07 is allowed. 3: Please put some effort into your maps, preferably around iwad quality. 4: No custom textures allowed, this counts sky transfers. 5: Having some resemblance of weapon progression would be good (basically, don't put a bfg in map 02). 6: 2 maps allowed per person. 7: Joining sectors is very encouraged. 8: Try to keep your maps at a reasonable monster count. Slaughter maps will be frowned upon. 9: Design your maps for pistol start. 10: Have fun mapping! How would you describe your mapping philosophy?

I struggle with coming up with layouts so I tend to have very linear short maps with kinda repetitive texturing. I also have a problem with symmetry. -

I have a couple of other projects in the works at the moment so I think I am going to drop my slot here for now. I may come back in the future if I have a really good idea but I don't want to hang on to the slot until the last second. -
If someone could tell me what is going on here that would be great. On GZdoom the midtextures appear but the sky transfer doesn't and on other ports it is the opposite. 1sector.zip

Looks like there is a few more here next to the megashphere. https://imgur.com/a/Edrot37 Also, the secret on 17 feels really unfair, idk how anyone was supposed to guess that was how you get the megasphere. It killed my "100% secrets without help" run. I think that should be reworked personally because it just seems like softlock prevention would be up there and not a secret.

I think replacing it with a blue key will work just fine.

The yellow key door in my part feels a little weird saying you must have it already to reach it.

sorry for that hidden walkway on map 08. The AI told me to. That was how you were supposed to get to the switch that lowered the blue key. -

I forgot to play this. The screenshots that you posted in the maximum project were amazing. Edit: Just played it. Definitely worth a play, it is a fun little otex map with a creative theme. Good job! -

As long as you keep on mapping and implementing stuff that you know works and dumping what doesn't, you will improve really quickly. I would also recommend starting with some smaller maps to get feedback on what works and what doesn't -

Maybe a stupid question but how do you get screenshots like that without any HUD? If I do it in UDB it has the big crosshair and if I do it in game there is a HUD. Also, here is a screenshot from a project I am working on.
