  1. This looks like a cool idea for a Community Project
  2. Sectors, the fundamental building blocks of every doom map. We tend to use a lot of them in our maps, but, what if we didn't... Now is your chance to find out, the goal is to make decent looking maps without using more then 30 sectors. Here are the rules: 1: Use Boom format for your maps. 2: Usage of the special actions in map 07 is allowed. 3: Please put some effort into your maps, preferably around iwad quality. 4: No custom textures allowed, this counts sky transfers. 5: Having some resemblance of weapon progression would be good (basically, don't put a bfg in map 02). 6: 2 maps allowed per person. 7: Joining sectors is very encouraged. 8: Try to keep your maps at a reasonable monster count. Slaughter maps will be frowned upon. 9: Design your maps for pistol start. 10: Have fun mapping! The goal is to have 32 maps done by the end of the year.     I would say that the boiler bots don't really work here but otherwise this is a lot of fun excited for part 2!

  6. I have expressed before that I am not feeling very motivated to finish this so I am going to make a compromise. All submitted maps and all slots that have been taken will be finished and compiled but I will be closing new slots. And this will have 21 maps in it. Unless there are large repercussions that I am not thinking of this will be official. I just don't want to force myself to do something I really don't want to. I really appreciate all the effort that has gone into these maps and don't want them to go to waste.

  8. I think I am going to drop out of this project. I am not experienced enough to make something good and I also have not been playing doom very much recently. I wish you luck though!
  9. I am planning on releasing the updated map 19 soon but I felt really demotivated by the builder crashing and me losing my progress.

    Unsaved Work

    I will not have access to this computer in an hour so I need to get it by then. I made the mistake of trying to save while the file was in a .zip folder and I know it did not save. I tried this but I could not find it. I can show screenshots. I have not opened the editor since then. Please help.

    What would that do? If I did where would they be? The problem is not the the builder crashed it is that I saved it and closed it yet I know it did not save because the wad was in a .zip folder.

    I made the stupid mistake of trying to work on a map while it is in a zip folder. I know it didn't save and I tried this and it did not work. I don't want to open the editor because the temp files will disappear, what do I do?

  17. So I am actually reworking the texturing and the combat. Also fixing a bug where SSG did not appear on lowest difficulty.

  19. I am reworking Caverns of Despair (Again) using Otex. Don't have access to slade though.
  20. Great map! It looks really good and I really like the combat. (Especially the final fight). I do think the archvile is really annoying if you have not grabbed the SSG yet when it appears (Like me)
  21. It is looking like a decent map 30 so I may switch it to that slot if you are good with that? Then the difficult would be more warranted.
  22. Have yet to beat it, it is really hard. Loving the asthetic and gameplay though. Feels like you are capturing the feeling of maps like bastion of chaos with 30 sectors and only stock textures. Will give more feedback when I beat it. Btw, I found this weird bug where a corpse appears but only at a very specific angle and position.
