  1. What is the best tip you can give to new mappers? Be it a common mistake you see or just an easy tip to make your maps look better. I will start. When you are changing floor textures in your map either use some kind of border texture if you have one or try to raise or lower the ground, it makes the map look a lot better.

  4. @Tangra That is an outdated version. Also I just saw that the sides of the first wall that lowers are misaligned.

  8. This happens in normal maps but is a far bigger problem here, at random points the brightness gets fricked and I don't know why.

  10. The only problem with this idea of simple colors is that it makes the way that doom renders textures from far away very noticeable which makes it way harder to map. These are the same texture (I have seen it do far worse):
  11. Great map, makes great use of the space and is a really tough gauntlet before map 30. The main problem is there is almost no ammo for the first 2 keys which makes it a lot harder. I ended up having to play on HMP and it should be UV in my opinion, it is balanced while UV feels a bit ridiculous. I also found whatever this is: Look at where the blood flows to and you will see a weird gray line. I think that pool should be lowered into the ground by 4 or so pixels and it will look a lot better. Another problem I had is the BFG and soulsphere being stacked on one another made it so I did not grab it and that gave me problems during the chaos which is the final fight. I also think the exit pedestal looks a bit weird. Really good job!

  13. Map 06: The idea here is a pretty loose one, it is just one big fight essentially, it is not terrible but I would not go out of my way to play it because it is just not that fun imo. Map 07: I didn't finish it, killing the pile of revenants with the super shotgun is impossible. I don't know if the rocket launcher was marked wrong but I did not get one and it made this map impossible.

  15. I actually think it is pretty easy all things considered. Other then the fricking cyberdemon. The exit seems bugged, and also, how the hell do you expect anyone to see the switch on the tower? It literally has a wall in front of it. Also maybe make the progression switches all the same texture because otherwise some of them look like dispensers. Though maybe that will make it less obvious to shoot them so idk.
