Takeo Kurita replied to DavidN's topic in WAD Releases & Development
Ah, thanks! Maybe I should also try using them. So far I only used original Doom 2 stuff. -

What are these circles visualizing? -
I now completed all 6 maps. They are really great! Loved the challenges and the visuals. For the last fight, I needed a lot of tries

(Not taking submissions rn) Submit your maps here and I will make a video about it!

Thank you so much for your play through and your nice words! :) Very glad that you liked it. I was a bit shocked when you immediately mentioned Tricks and Traps at the beginning of your video, because I really had that in mind when going for all these traps. I just like that map style, when the map evolves because of all the traps that open up. You were right about the outside area in the hell dimension, that you can get there. That is one of the secrets. For the last fight, you can really fight the Cyberdemon and kill it during the timer. But you have to be very quick killing the first wave of that fight and then prepare for the second. Your solution was probably better. :) -
I will play your WAD and make a video with commentary [ON HIATUS]

@thelamp: Thank you for playing my map! Was a great pleasure to watch and listen to you, Biodegradable, and Clippy. I guess you got a bit distracted that you missed all these switches ;) and also the secrets. :D But it was crazy that you triggered the final fight without even clearing the room first and still managed to survive. It seems this is a valid tactic because the Cyber gets distracted then. -
I am working on a full 32 map megawad!
Takeo Kurita replied to Ash4ash's topic in WAD Releases & Development
Even if you plan to create a full megawad, I would suggest to publish some maps on their own initially. This way you will get valuable feedback and can improve on your skills. You will most probably also improve just by creating the maps without feedback, but not as much. -

You might want to look into the log for your map in RAMPs download section, because it shows some warnings. -
[UPDATE: Version 2.1 /idgames] You Have 1 HP - GZDoom 32-level mini-megawad

If you need to score 1000 points first, you also need much longer than 30 seconds. 🤣 -

Played through the entire wad on Normal. This is really great! Many nice challenges and very interesting ideas. Only a few levels that I did not like. Mostly the ones with the lost souls. :) I also had the problem with the rocket jumping level. You should probably add as information, that comp level needs to be default. -

I really cannot complain that I did not get any feedback yet, but if you don't mind, I would really love to also hear your thoughts and see your playthrough of my map. It is very nice to hear the different thoughts and see different plays. It's in Boom format and I tested it with GZDoom and PrBoom+. -

Yes, very true. That's why it is so interesting to see the different play throughs of the same map. -

I really cannot complain that I did not get any feedback yet, but if you don't mind, I would really love to also hear your thoughts and see your playthrough of my map. It is very nice to hear the different thoughts and see different plays. 1. Source Port: GZDoom or PrBoom+ 2. Map Number: MAP01 3. Map Name: Dimension Hub 4. Difficulty: Harder than original IWADs, but much easier than Scythe for example. 5. How many maps: 1 6. Map Format: Boom 7. IWAD: Doom2 No need to make it anonymous. :) -

Sorry, did not mean to complain or anything. It is just very interesting to see all the different settings used by people. Hope you had fun playing it! It was definitely fun to watch. -

I updated the map again with feedback I received: Added new level entry area that should hopefully look a bit more interesting than the first room. Increased difficulty of final fight again. Added music "Reading The Demonic Scriptures" by Neil Forshaw (AKA NeilJohnRips). @Custom Longplay: Nice, thank you for playing my map! This Project Brutality run felt different than the other one by BerserkerNoir. Is this a setting that the map is that dark and you basically needed the light all the time? And next, you need to work on your weapon changing skills. :D You took so much damage when changing the weapons, because it took too long. :) But great that you still made it to the final fight on a single try. -

Thanks a lot for playing my map! :) That definitely was a lot of fun to watch. The action with PB is really crazy. Also interesting that with all these changes it is still at least somewhat balanced. It was not super easy but also not unbeatable.
