I beg to differ. Yes, they may feel good, but that doesn't mean there good. Id literally ruined the shotgun in this game to where when your not right on top of an enemy, it'll take very little of there health, however up close, about 80% of the time it'll one shot an imp. I can't really shit on the starter pistol because, well, it's just that. I will say the 3 best weapons in the game are the soul cube, chain gun, and plasma rifle, the doom 3 plasma rifle being considered one of the best versions in doom games.

Doom 3 always will be the black sheep of the franchise. Best part of the game is the atmosphere and soul cube.

Hello everybody, I love doom and everything related to it (even doom 3, despite it being the black sheep of the franchise). I'm new to the concept of doom wads and mods and my first real taste of doom was with doom 2016.

This is sad with the context now, considering we got nothing for a new doom game. However, if it were up to me, I would try to refocused on some of the original doom game ideas, such as the fact that doom guy isn't a God, he's a mortal killing gods, as well as try to see what would happen when he started caring more about what he's doing, which is what I'd already seems to be going with with the last 2 games, first the slayer saves Vega before destroying part of the site, and then takes the assistance of a uac worker in doom eternal. Mixed with the slayers past and having lost daisy (rip), it would be the logical next step, however this should in no way affect the combat. I would love, however, for the soul cube to return as it was a powerful and useful weapon in doom 3 and is known to exist in the modern doom franchise.

I finally figured it out. Apparently, steelseries gg, which was something I had download to improve my aim in games (not aim bot, but aim trained essential) somehow was messing with the doom music and sounds. I uninstalled it and everything is back to normal. Sorry for wasting your time.

I have put all the DLL files into the base folder which has fixed the error messages. However sound has still not returned, and when restarting the midi device, the console says "I_InitSound: Initializing OpenAL Opened device OpenAL Soft on SteelSeries Sonar Aux (SteelSeries Sonar Virtual Audio Device) EFX enabled"

openal32.dll was not in the base file with all the other files, so now will it take time for the sound to come back or is there still a problem? The error message have disappeared as well.

I have checked the Taskbar and no error occurs. However, going into the sound setting and messing with the midi input showed that volume isnt turned down, the problem has something to do with the midi as I get the error message "unable to create gus midi device. Falling back to Fluidsynth" and attempting to restart midi output gives "Sound unit failed. Using nosound"

The almost frantic yet calculated precision of it all. It's like and art that is mastered through trial and error.
