    Probably it is only a matter of points of view... but I believe videogames are art and for this reason we can study them and critic them as any other piece of art can be evaluated. UL.
  2. You're right: I have not yet implemented lights. Regarding 90-degree angles... you're right again. I still have to work a little on this map. But my question is: is it enough id-ish? UL.

    The "sense", or the "meaning", are in the mind of the spectator, not in the author's mind.

    I was thinking that maybe doom and doom 3 are not "alternative" each other, but happened at the same time. So while doomguy was on Phobos fighting demons, doom3guy was on mars... doing the same thing. They just didn't meet each other.

  10. I found this: Tstarwars.zip (3.89 MB, for Zdoom) which IMO is very fun to play. In short it converts you in a Tie-fighter and the game is Descent-like. I recall I saw years ago another mod which made you a spacecraft, but I can't find it anymore. Have you ever seen something similar?

  14. I liked the alpha doom textures. Did you create the texture wad? May I use it if inspired?

  16. Walter, your e3m1 is very nice but perhaps too much big IMO for being a first episode level. The starting labyrinth has a lot of dead-ends, which is not bad in itself, but should have some artifact just to rewarn the player for the exploration. I found one caco blocked inside her cell somewhere near the beginning. The other level is a deep tribute to petersen style? Very well done, but in many ways far away from the idea of this project. And yes, my e1m8 is very similar to the original... I wanted to play with the idea of a star with more than 5 tips. I also think that e1m8 is a special level so you have to do something completly new or a good tribute to the original.

    I sometimes have the same problem. the best thing is to drop all the doom stuff and start doing something else... L.

Nice level, but some areas are too much inspired by original e3m1, while it's missing a good starting view: this is the first level set in hell, just remember the great view you have at the beginning of warrens when you raise the organic lift and find yourself in the field. And perhaps too much alligned textures... Good gameplay, even if i run out of ammo few times...

  23. Ehm... it seems I ask questions and answer myself alone. However my biosphere map was just an idea. I have already contributed the project with one map, perhaps I'll do some more.
  24. I don't agree. First, I don't see the reason to use vines sparingly. IMO, or you use it or you don't. Second, obviously a lot of maps from this project will not be enough ID-compliant. Let's have a separate episode for them. Third, if reasoning on ID style and architecture, we come out with some nice new idea, why not use it? Why don't create a spin-off episode and work on it? L.
