    Last Week on Earth

Something to read while you're waiting to be raptured. :) The aftermath: A whole bunch of nothingness

    Last Week on Earth

Well frankly I cannot possibly believe in the end of the world because the world is still spinning around the sun. Well now it is 1:20 GMT+1, and nothing has happened so, good night.
  3. It isn't the best tune by far, but it sure is perfect for kicking up the adrenaline another notch when you start to play it. I also love the tune E2M2 and E2M4, as well ofcourse as E3M4 / E1M8 which is pure and simply jaw dropping.

    Confusing things in DOOM

What's most strange though is why did they put up the commander Keen dolls at level 32 in Doom2?

    Whispers of Satan RELEASED!

I have to say that this looks really mint. However I'm having troubles downloading it from zshare since I am using adblockers, and I won't be on my job until monday. So could you please upload a mirror to say speedysbare.com / mediafire.com? Would be sweret to test this.

    [DB2] Direct3D error

I configured my graphics card, and since then I cannot start any map in DB2. Has anyone had this issue, and how did you solve it?
  7. My father gave me the advice to provide as relevant information in as compact form as possible. This way one can get more said in less time. :) Don't forget about GIMP which is a very competent tool for art design. Alot of free brushes covering most aspects of creation can be found on deviant art. Right now I have to go to bed, will provide more useful info when I'm rested.
  8. I got the knowledge how to sell from my father Björn Brodd (RIP), he was a damn good insurance seller with a lot of customers around the vicinity of Stockholm. That ain't my gebit though, but thanks for the advice anyways.

    Custom explosion radius

I was a decorate noob until I finally had some experiments done in Zdoom. I created a barrel with much higher explosion. Might see if I can locate the file and show it to you. I should have it here somewhere on my 900 GB harddrive, but if I find it then I'll post the dec code so you can reuse it.
  10. Here is a few freeware tools that I really can recommend when it comes to texture makers. Skinman If you really want to create textures easily then you should test Skinman. It is a vector based tool that lets you do allmost anything regarding textures. Embosses, shades, speculars are just a few things this free tool can pull off. It exports into bmp, png, jpg and other formats. This tool is vectopr based, so you don't need to fiddle around with pixels. It lets you load existing pictures as well, and you can even store pictures as textures that you can use to add as filling to your textures. Knobman Not as simple to use, but quite powerful when it comes to create textures, but it has a forte for animations. Specially tech animations such as skrews, knobs etc etc. Seen the door with the spinning lock in Doom3? This kind of spinning pictures is very easily done with knobman. You can export into many different formats including animated GIF's, and image strips in the other formats. The knob files you create can then be imported into skinman for further application in your textures. Photofiltre Now we're talking quality freeware. PhotoFiltre is a photo retouch tool features allmost exactly what Photoshop has, even support for it's filters and palettes (IIRC), This will help vanilla builders getting the palette right in their textures. This tool ain't free, but it is a steal for the price it has: €29 for a very good graphic tool.

Keyboarders, how do you configure your keys?

I've got some key bindings for Zdoom that works pretty well: I'm not gonna get over the clear stuff such as movement etc because this is done the original Doom way. But here is my special keys I've added: Y = Third person ON U = Third person OFF PGUP = Look up PGDN = Look down Space = jump HOME = fly up END = fly down DEL = center camera INS = screenshot F toggle flight mode (used very rarely) C toggle crouch mode
  12. Do you have a spotify.com]spotify membership? Then this might be of interest to you. I've spent the last 3-4 days browsing the database of intresting music to include in a new playlist: DooM's delight. Here is the playlist. Some more tracks has been added after this picture has been uploaded: It is a playlist spanning over 30 songs with different genres and styles. They have one thing in common. The music is hard hitting, high paced and uptempo. To put it frankly this is perfectly suited for any of the Doom games. I've played both Doom1 and Doom2 with this replacing the music for the games. There are some calmer tunes among them, but they still have the drive in them to get you fraggin' more. I've set this playlist to collaborative so you can add new tracks if you know something that should be included. Drag the link above to the spotify window's left list. The playlist will be added automatically and becomes ready to play. I hope you like it.

What Doom sourceport do you use?

I got Doom2 running in DosBox mostly for nostalgic reason. Ports: Mostly Z/GZdoom for building and testing maps, and sometimes playing wads when I got some time left. The latter happens not very often these days due to my hectic work.
  14. Wait a sec here. Wouldn't it be possible to alter the sprite's offset (x,y) in Decorate? That way you could just as easily raise it off screen into visibility?
  15. Let's take a deep breath of lithium here. The police seized his computer because he used the command prompt under Linux?! Get real. This puts me in a very precarious situation since I am installing Ubuntu to work computers, and using the prompt is a way I know how to do the thing. :) If I was this suspicious person then I would've sued the living crap out of the person who got suspicious.
