  1. Man, it feels like this began a lifetime ago... So great to see it released to the public after all these years! Big props to essel and everyone else who sank countless hours into this master class of vanilla mapping wizardry!

Fuck :( RIP to one of the all time greats. Too many legends in the music world have been lost this year.

    Post your Doom textures!

Here are some rocks I made and/or edited ages ago. Mostly some "Baby's First Photoshop" level shit and I can't vouch for how good they look in game, but perhaps somebody can find use for 'em.
  4. Impeccable. Simply impeccable.

    2021 Goals & Intentions

Maybe actually finish a map or two and release something to the public. Been a minute since I've done that.
  6. Oh hey there, Tango! Good to see a familiar face still hanging around these parts. Yeah been about a decade I'd say, give or take a year. How've ya been, old friend?
  7. Working on and off on some old unfinished maps I have laying around in the hopes of one day releasing them as a little limit-removing Doom 2 ep using (mostly) stock resources. Would be a shame to just let 'em rot on my HD.

Do you care about the lyrics in music?

<3 Nay-saying critics be damned, Peart writes excellent lyrics. Lyrics matter to me in the sense that terrible cringe-worthy ones easily detract from a song and can even lead to me downright hating it, while awesome lyrics help immerse me in the song even more and often get me singing along. They don't necessarily have to have some deep philosophical meaning for me to find them great, but that added layer of depth can sometimes be a nice bonus. On the flipside, lyrics that do have some kind of message the artist is shoving down my throat so hard that I'm practically dying of asphyxiation can be incredibly irritating. An exception to the whole "bad lyrics detract from the song" thing is lyrics that are so bad in the stupidly cheesy sense that I simply can't take them seriously on any level and just can't resist liking them for that factor. Such is the case with stuff like Dragonforce and Rick Astley.
  10. No. It will be called InfernoZ to appeal more to the urban youth demographic.

    I'm a coffee achiever, Sam.

I love it. I take it straight black like a real manly man. The stronger, the better. It really doesn't have much of an impact on me at all though. Used to work at a Barnes & Noble with a Starbucks in it, so I'd be able to get my fix for dirt cheap. All my co-workers thought I was a complete nutcase for being able to down that stuff straight up. They're pretty much right on that one.

Your True Opinon On... (#1): Mortal Kombat

At a high level they're pretty much all about being tactical, playing mindgames, reading your opponent, baiting your opponent into certain attacks, etc. Basically like a strategy game with an advanced execution barrier to get past. Of course I myself am nowhere near that level, but I am well aware that button mashing is a very fine way to have your rump served to you on fine china. My experience with the older Mortal Kombat titles as a child basically boils down to me laming out the CPU by throwing constant streams of projectiles. That said, the latest Mortal Kombat title is great. Feels much more fluid than most of the previous titles. It's less technical than most other fighters this gen like BlazBlue, Street Fighter 4, and Marvel 3, but that makes it like a nice relaxing break in between playing those. Also the fact that NRS is constantly patching the game and looking to make it a true contender in the competitive scene is fantastic. Now if only they'd get that damn netcode patched up already...

    Vanguard.wad - now on idgames!

I'd hate to see the sad, sorry state your hard wood floors are in.

    Vanguard.wad - now on idgames!

Now I may just be insane, but I'm fairly certain items like ammo and health are generally placed where they will be most beneficial to the gameplay and not where they look the prettiest.
