IronLich86 Posted February 6 Hello everyone! Recently, I switched to the latest version of GZDoom and noticed a change that I didn't like. It involves a light aura surrounding the player in dark sectors, and when you approach a wall, it illuminates slightly, as if you were carrying a flashlight. This happens with the hardware rendering options Sector Light Mode: Classic and Fog Mode: Standard or Radial. Disabling the Fog Mode removes that light aura, but you lose the effect. Previously, I had version 4.10.0, and Sector Light Mode had these options: Standard, Bright, Doom, Dark, Doom Legacy, Build, Software, Vanilla. I had it set to Dark. Now it only has these three: Classic, Software, Vanilla. Here are some images to better understand: Spoiler Sector Light Mode: Classic Fog Mode: Radial Spoiler Sector Light Mode: Classic Fog Mode: Off Additionally, the "flashlight effect" disappears if you're in a sector with lighting set to 0 and it looks like this: Spoiler It looks horrible. Here's how it looked in the previous version: Spoiler Sector Light Mode: Dark Fog Mode: Radial Spoiler Sector Light Mode: Dark Fog Mode: Off So far, I haven't found any option to remove that slight illumination. Does anyone know how to change this? Thanks! 0 Share this post Link to post
Shepardus Posted February 6 If that's too much to read, I would recommend my reply and Xaser's to understand what this change is about. 1 Share this post Link to post
