Is Episode 4 sky hand drawn?

I wonder if Episode 4 sky was entirely drawn by an artist, or based on a photo that may or may not represent a sky or cloudy mass.

For the most part, yes, it is hand drawn. It's based on the bunny scene sky, and the bunny scene itself was a sketch that Adrian Carmack did.

I don't have a link to it off hand, but John Romero released the original drawing that Adrian did sometime back.
