    Crispy Doom 6.0 (Update: Mar 31, 2023)

When using -record command, it is now possible to use save/load. That's great! Problem is that it automatically pauses if you load. Really annoying, hence I personally prefer -shorttics command (along with extra shortcut) over the unneccessary pause. Tiny suggestion: when crispydoom tries to overwrite a demo, for example test000.lmp, it names it test001.lmp instead. This is a feature I really like, BUT it stopping to the number test999.lmp is actually not enough. Would be great if it was up to 99999. I know there are some demos that required at least 20 000 attempts, meaning 20 000 demo files.

  4. Nobody really cares if you use S50 on turns in TAS. At least it is a lot more easy to make built runs when you allow S50 on turns. Btw, I think one can only make S24 and S40 on the same frame as turn commands. So it is not just "S50 on turns" but rather S1-50 on turns, excluding S24 and S40.

Heh, thanks! That one actually means something to me since that's what I would like to be, a versatile player.

Great stuff there! Exact in-game timer, mouse strafe sensitivity 👌 The "Show player coords" is great in speedrunning BUT ONLY when you are in practice mode. It is NOT allowed in an actual attempt though, so people have to be careful about it... maybe add a warning message about it? Anyways, those improvements help a lot with speedrunning. Thanks for making those requests true!

    How to open XDRE?

You need to place doom/doom2 wad into the folder with the exe. Make a shortcut for the exe and have something like this: F:\xdre2\xdre.exe -iwad doom.wad or if you want to run doom2 as an iwad: F:\xdre2\xdre.exe -iwad doom2.wad and if you want to play hr2.final.wad: F:\xdre2\xdre.exe -iwad doom2.wad -file hr2final.wad Yes, you need many shortcuts if you use it on many different wads.

    Crispy Doom 6.0 (Update: Mar 31, 2023)

I suggested the milliseconds the way I did because if I want to speedrun Doom 2 Map01 for example, I know all of my attempts will be "5 seconds", but how to know which one is the fastest? The only way is to open each demo file and check it manually. It's very annoying beacuse you can make 1 demo every 10 seconds, but now you have to check every demo because you don't know the exact time. This means it takes a lot of time to check the exact time compared to the actual speedrunning, about 40% of the total time spent. If the time was shown initially in milliseconds in the intermission screen, you would never have to open the demo file to check, which would be great.
