    Initially, no it wasnt. Since the sector uses a light glow effect, i cant have it be a secret also. The blue armor has since been moved elsewhere for the next release :)

    Thanks. I really enjoyed your playthrough. No worries about the deaths :p Yes, the yellow key is optional (so is the ssg section). It gives you a plasma gun. Basically, when you go up the first lift, the right wing is entirely optional. The left wing is the main path.

  4. I guess if you have completely original graphics (sprites, textures, gfx, etc...) and sounds/music THEN, perhaps you can. But, even then, I dunno. AND OF COURSE MAPS, Original levels

  8. Nah, after thinking about it. I'm gonna be reasonable. I have so many maps to finish currently that I can't really commit to anything new (or update somethign old in this case). So here's the thing, if someone is willing to update my map, have at it. If not, well, it will stay in the state (it's pretty ok all things considered) and it will be up to scotty if they want to keep it or not.
  9. This pickup might give me an insentive to update my map. It's 3 years old (maybe more) and it doesn't really reflect what i do now. Edit: WTF, it's double that actually. 6 years (almost) old. Yeah, i really need to update it or, at least, make a new one from scratch

    I do like the 10-15 mapsets nowadays but, that's mainly due to time constraint. There has (and probably will be in the future) been great 32-maps megawads released in recent years though. One of which (valiant) happens to be my favorite megawad to date. But heh, that's just like, my opinion man.

    Congratulations to all winners. I have not played much this year, but, i have been quite productive behind the scenes hehe Anyhow, of the little i played this year, it's great to see pagodia winning a runner's up. Eggboy (and all of course) deserves it :) Next year will surely be something for me with what i have in stores. But yeah, this isn't about me. Congrats to everyone !
  21. TECHGROWN - A Yugiboy85 WIP mapset for boom (cl9) INTRO: Hello everyone, as some of you know already, I have officially started work on a mapset. Yup, you heard that right, not a single map like i usually do, but an actual mapset. This has been one of my objectives for a few years now and I finally found a theme I'm happy with so here we go. The mapset is gonna have a theme of temple like structures mixed with tech. But, the temples won't be the only thing combined with tech, the natural landscape will also have that treatment. I'm really experimenting on stuff. Expect some wacky (kinda) stuff that would not make sense elsewhere but you know, why not? The mapset is expected to have 4 to 5 maps and is going pretty strong right now. I have completed one map so far (more on that later) and I really like what I have come up with, hopefully you will too :D HOW DID THE IDEA FOR THE MAPSET COME TO MIND? The idea for this project actually came from a single great song over at esselfortium's channel who, I think I don't have to introduce :D The song in question: Listening to this gave me the overall theme of the mapset for some reason. Ironically, I can't use that song in question (for obvious reasons) but that's not an issue, there are plenty of great midis out there done by talented people that will fit the mapset. I just wanted to put the song that inspired me to do this. So yeah, you'd think that I only have a few wip screenshots right? How about a demo map (and moar screens)? DEMO MAP: This will be the only public map available until i finish the mapset though. It's just an appetizer. I just thought it would be nice to have something to play :) LINK: https://www.dropbox.com/s/yjyfvgk12czv1e3/TECHGROWN_DEMO.wad?dl=1 This replaces map01 and needs boom, cl9 (tested on prboom+ 2.5.1.4) at the very least. The map is quite short and fairly easy although, I wouldn't let your guard down. This should eventually be map 01 of the project but, nothing is set in stone. The map uses the syringe palette (i believe it is the 32in24 one), included in the demo map. The map should work on zdoom based ports also (not tested though but, suitepee played this with no issues to report on gzdoom so). The demo uses the song "sanctuary" by AD_79. A wonderful song that you can find in his tarnsman contest map and 1klines3 :) Unless anything critical is found, I don't think I'll update this demo but again, you never know :D Please note that nothing you see in this is by any means final. This is afterall, as the title suggests, a demo map. It is supposed to introduce you to the theme and stuff ^^ This demo does need OTEX_v1.1 which you can grab here: https://doom.ukiro.com/otex-downloads/ Please get the wad version, and not the pk3 version. Wink wink @Suitepee :p So yeah, have fun. I wanted to wait until jimmy got to this on his stream but heh, it is what it is.
  22. Oh wow, it's been a year almost hasn't it? Some update is long overdue on the current state of the project. It's still in the works (I've actually picked it up recently) but, it has admitedly been a slow progress. My original plans were to have this thing done by the end of this year but, it's not looking likely. Various reasons: - Work - Actually mapping for vanilla (which has been tons of fun but, also, quite a learning curve). - Lack of ideas, but that's all good now i think So yeah, this project will come out. Im really pleased with how it turned out so far. Just bear with me for some time. I am going to have to revise my initial plans though. Originally, i wanted to make 4-5 maps for this but, let's be real, i wont be able to. I will probably make 3 maps (2 of which are complete) for this. There may be some surprises along the way though, who knows hehe
