Will be held on the 9th September, 2017. BASIC RULES: - You'll have 2 hours to finish the map, however the borderline is 3 hours if your project is that ambitious - The maps should be Boom compatible and playable in -complevel 9 in order to increase flexibility. You don't have to use Boom actions if you don't want to. - You'll get three themes when the session starts to ensure fair play. The bonus, last session will also contain a bonus theme - You'll need to incorporate at least one theme in your map So, the first session will be held on 7:00 am UTC, or 8:00 am GMT (New York is UTC-4 so take that as an example) and the second session will be held on 7:00 pm UTC! for navigation - http://everytimezone.com NEW - WE HAVE OUR OWN DISCORD SERVER NOW! I understand you Jaws, as Avatar's maps were really bad, but if we're already doing a Resurgence project meant to imitate styles of all authors, I think an Avatar map should also be present. That's just my opinion though. -

Guys, custom textures were allowed if you wanted to use some. I'll make it more clear next time. In the meantime, the compilation will probably be ready in a day since I'm away from my PC atm. -

Themes - outdoors; most of the map takes place outdoors - the middle of the map contains "treasure" (something important like an altar or gold or something) - lots of hidden passageways -

Yeah well in 2013 I was mainly building mediocre Duke3D maps and I tried to make some Doom maps too, that was the first result :) Thanks for giving it a shot, I thought many people would leave the thread after the "it is mediocre" statement. I understand it was not really good. The bridge raising can actually be activated by flicking its side too. The blue key secret was meant to be a monster closet but I didn't know anything about advanced fast doors and tags so I was kinda perplexed and just made it a secret... the end room is a bit psychedelic, though. The second map was meant to feel open with the lakes but I was not pleased so I decided to just abandon everything. I didn't really publicly link my most recent maps, but if you want to try them out, you could shoot me a PM

I've improved a lot. http://www.mediafire.com/file/ngwxw1gqiokiuf8/map03(2).wad It's MAP01 and MAP02 which is unfinishable. MAP01 was probably a very decent map, seeing as it's beatable and not too bad. It is mediocre, but it's not really a bad first map I guess? MAP02 is just bullshit.

To add to Steve D's explanation, when you pick the flamethrower up, instead of the usual pickup message, "Are You Experienced" is printed.
