Thank you for mentioning LZDoom. My own current PC is complete garbage and now LZDoom let me play mods (Brutal Doom even.) at a glorious resolution of 320x240!

GZDoom is my second most used engine. It is worth it for the mod support alone. I will never understand the GZDoom hate train. I mean, sure, it's not the greatest choice ever for a purist. But, for what it is, it has one hell of a punch.

I also have fond memories of Doomsday. Or jDoom I should say. Been a long time ago. First sourceport I have beaten Doom on. It's also a wonderful port for Heretic/Hexen. We don't have a lot of a choice for those games. I might try out Doom Retro. I'm hearing a lot of good things about it.

I just felt it was more convenient to start a new one than resurrecting an old one. Sorry if the topic bothers you.

I'm just curious to see the opinions from this community. Steam is a bit trash for that kind of discussion. My most used sourceport is Eternity Engine. Has enough options for me and seems to be quite accurate overall to me. I run it at 640x480 for that sweet nostalgia-filled pixelated filter. (Original resolution is a bit too low for my tastes these days.) I also love that I can see the "credits" when leaving the game. It's fun to be able to see those in my opinion since a lot of fan made project got their own. Reading those is another level of nostalgia. My only gripe with it is that I can't seem to find any ways to record demos. Before that, I was using PrBoom+ and I would record my play sessions. So, I can upload videos to YouTube when something interesting happens. If any of you know how or if the port does not support this, I would like to know! I want to add special mentions to the Unity port and Crispy Doom. Because, I believe those are by far the best ports for first time players. EDIT: Also, let's not turn that into a fight about which sourceport is best. I'm interested in your opinions, not a debate. Thank you. :D
