    [On Hold] Doom 32x: Delta

    Roebloz, thanks for the 32x port of Sigil. Since there are many versions of Doom supported on RetroAchievements, but none of Sigil, I decided to make a set of achievements for it. If someone wants to try it, it's as simple as creating an account there, link RetroArch to it, and play using RetroArch.

    IronEagle Competition 3: Crumpets

    Dead on Map03. Played on GZDoom 3.5.1 with settings: -file crumpets.wad +compatmode 6 -skill 4 -record demo +map map01 dec2018 guineu.zip Not blind, played it last year or so.

    Where did November go? Anyway better late than never: ironeagle_nov18_guineu Used GZDoom 3.5.1 with: -file vanguard.wad -complevel 9 -skill 4 -record demo -warp 01 I played Vanguard years ago, I didn't remember anything but I guess technically it's category 2. Died on Map03, second pair of Archviles got me.

    By indifferent I understand you allow it, nice because I'm so spoiled by mouselook that I can't play anymore without it, to the point I don't even try the DWIronman League anymore because of how much I suck without mouselook.     Probably a stupid question but... using ZDoom, is mouselook allowed? "-complevel 2" doesn't seem to disable it and the first post says nothing about it so I'm just wondering.
  6. Map looks great, the custom enemies don't feel out of place, it's challenging... but playing on UV I had severe ammo problems about 150 kills in. Plenty of health but finally died when I didn't have enough punch to deal with an Archville and the stuff he resurrected.

    Pillars - a small setpiece map

    I didn't see anything hinting the switch was the exit and ended the map before intended with barely over 50% kills.
  10. Darkening Ep1 => Map04, didn't expect a fat spider so soon, just ran around like an idiot and died. Darkening Ep2 => Map05, first threatening teleport trap, couldn't find a place to hide from hitscanners, ran around like an idiot and died. Blind / Category 1: guineu darken 1+2
  11. Really fun map to explore and the difficulty was balanced at the right spot for my tastes. Didn't try Nightmare despite reading about it, maybe on a future playthrough. Recorded my playthrough:
  12. Is jumping allowed? Couldn't find a way to access the secret without jumping. Edit: As for suggestions, the textures and weapons look nice but the gameplay wasn't particularly interesting. Maybe adding more weapons would allow you to design better fights. RL should be a must when making a TF2 mod in my opinion and would allow for more varied and interesting gameplay.

  15. I'm probably the only one that cares about this but on the txt file (and therefore the idgames page) you have "Music: No". Anyway fun little map, enjoyed playing it.

    @NaZa yes the error message was something about "34". Doesn't matter, while messing around I overwrote the demo so I don't have any prove. No worries, I guess I could record map35 again but I'm fine just dropping map35 from my entry since it's optional. Thanks for the explanation.

    Another soul for the Twin Hellknights. That's what I call a difficulty spike, the wad was pretty chill until you get those two Hellknights thrown at your face while getting trapped in a cage. ironman guineu 50monster.zip Attempted map33 a few times, so I guess that makes my entry a Category 2 (edit: or Category 3?). On map35 my PrBoom+ crashed after killing the boss Pain Elemental that fires Mancubus projectiles in my first attempt. Not sure if that was the end of the map. When trying to watch the demo also got an error, so no map35 for me.
  18. Nice map. Seeing the starting area I was worried it would be one of those confusing layouts but in the end I didn't have any problems getting lost. Here's a recording of my casual blind playthrough, after dying once I add a 'death counter' just for the giggles: Edit: Playing on HMP.

    baby's first maps!

    Going to try this later. You may want to update the download links in the first post with the updated version or most people will miss them. I almost did.
  20. Demo file: guineu_warlh.lmp.zip (Cat.1) And youtube video. As usual at my own pace, took me longer to reach halfway the map than some survivors to complete the whole thing. In the end died to a lone Revenant rocket. What can I say, I think he was using an aimbot. Damn hackers.
  21. Great map. I liked everything; the visuals, the realistic base design, the survival style gameplay. The map manages to be different than typical Doom in most aspects and yet it still feels like classic Doom. Here's my recorded playthrough, not a first attempt as I checked the map once beforehand playing until the blue key. From that onward it's blind play. There's a visual bug near the end (39:11 in the video), other than that all was fine.
  22. I like to think a megawad is 30-32 maps and an episode 8-9 maps, following the structure of the original games. Everything else is simply a set of maps in my opinion. But since there's no official definition I don't care much about people using megawad for whatever length they feel like.

    My first Doom WAD: "Canyon"

    I liked the layout; both the canyon at the start and the base are well made. The only part that felt uninspired to me was the long stairs at the end On the other hand the combat is too dull, the player doesn't feel danger at any point. One of the secrets counts as two, maybe you could consolidate them into one.

    [Boom] Btlgs1

    Simple but fun maps. There were many Archviles, but their placement and the fights in general are forgiving, so despite the threats the maps are relaxed. Here's my playthrough. I think the Plasma gun in Map02 is supposed to be a secret? But you can just run and grab it from the start (12:32 in video, as opposed to the secret leading to it from behind at 17:54) leaving the secret empty later on.
