Back to Saturn X Episode 3 [WIP]: 5 MAP PREVIEW BUILD ON PAGE 11
JBerg replied to Xaser's topic in WAD Releases & Development
Woah. Who's mapping on it? -
I thought an LD just blocked out a map but a mapper did the while flow (LD, Environment art, lighting, etc) Isn't the term "Level Designer" just a product of the modern hyper specialized game dev pipeline?

Activision under investigation for financial fraud
JBerg replied to [McD] James's topic in Everything Else
Even Diablo 3, sure it's fun, but the setting and story make no sense. It felt like "hey remember the butcher? He's back! Why? Because of brand recognition duh!" -

I always felt like the general tone of Blizzard games changed a lot post-World of Warcraft. Not entirely certain the blame should all be put on Activision. -
Thy Flesh Consumed has some really excellent maps.

I just think they wanted to resell the game to people who owned the OG versions. Quake 1 on the n64 was pretty much the same and much less interesting to me for that.

The Diablo 3 version we got made little to no sense in the story arc of Diablo 1 + 2. Not sure why people don't just realize the name is just a brand by now. This video here shows what was supposed to be the real sequel to Diablo 3 we're you'd fight angels iirc

good job as always!

I'd love to see a community project have the same limitations that Doom64 had. Kind of tempted to try mapping for it too.
-
Level design in other shooters of that era would of probably been more realism-focused.

Been playing Speed of Doom. I'm at map 24 and it's been great so far (except for map 32, I wasn't a fan of that one)

you know what they say: "if you can't find them legally ... well there's always the other way"
-
Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if Doomworld had a lot of Spanish speakers.

I found this secret, but I'm unsure about what it references. What is it about?

Wait, did Strafe have auto-generated levels? -
