so I went on vacation to Kelowna. during my trip, I lost interest in doom mapping in favor of arcade games. when I got back a few weeks later, I gained interest in other games. but after watching civvie`s video on plutonia, I was inspired to start development on map22 today. I have finished the first room in the map, and I plan on expanding on it tomorrow. here is a teaser for what is to come.

i dont know what to call the art style in doom64.

H.R Geiger uses distortion, stretching, and smearing. I don't think D64 has that style. Everything looks more "realistic" and "tim burton's batman" in D64. The demons look like clay figures instead of cartoons. -

@-TDRR- I FINALLY GOT THE FILE TO WORK IN DOSBOX! it was just the .INI file settings. it was pointing towards doom 1 instead of doom 2.

i wonder if you can load a .deh file using a batch file? just asking out of curiosity.

by that, I mean that the .deh file has a bug where the game crashes every time the plasmagun is fired. is there a way to fix this?

TDRR, how do I prevent chocolate doom from crashing every time I fire the plasma rifle? development cannot continue until this bug is fixed.

so, what do you guys think of the monster test map? it's available to download on the first post. it is a single map with custom monsters, courtesy of TDRR, made in dehacked. it also contains a .deh file you can load into chocolate doom. but you MIGHT be able to load in dosbox if youre smart enough.

I would like traditional doom deathmatch. No tactics, no dirty tricks, no quake. Just spawn, find a weapon, and fire away. No thinking allowed.

i play the way it was meant to be played. no thinking, guns blazing, and thrash metal. i am currently doing a "true pro doom" run with civvies rules but in dosbox, keyboard only, and minimal saving, unless the level is impossible without it. yeah. keyboard only. default control scheme.

I have released a map to test the new enemies TDRR made. I have also edited them.
