  1. As far as managing where files are hosted and downloaded from. It would be great to just link to mods uploaded to the /idgames/ archive, but there are some mods that are hosted elsewhere like moddb or straight from cloud storage accounts and so I would have to include links to those as well. All depends on how users submit their projects and where they hosting their stuff.
  2. Thanks for your feedback everyone. I've amended my intro post.
  3. You can email me your projects then using the address on my initial post. No worries. I will update this thread periodically.
  4. Cool, please consider joining my Facebook group. I will be posting regular updates there on how the process will work and when it will be available. Still getting the logistics worked out, but you can share your work on there for others to see and create some hype.
  5. Hi all, I'm building a website to showcase community mods in a more visual way instead of just directories as other sites do. PLEASE NOTE: This is an edited post as you will judge from the following comments and it was brought to my attention that the manner I introduced this thread and my project gave off the wrong impression of what I'm trying to do, so I do apologize for the confusion and negativity. The idea is not to reinvent an already strong wheel, but to offer an alternative means to browse for mods, Wads, TCs, etc. I like playing me some Doom on GZDoom using Beautiful Doom as my go to gameplay mod. I don't have a lot of time however to play, let alone go mod hunting for new or interesting ones. Using the existing means to search for WADs/mods doesn't work for me because I can't browse for something visually that grabs my attention or meets my preferences. For this reason I decided to use my skills to build a website that could achieve this objective and I would like to share it with everyone in the Doom community to use and add to. The website is in it's early stages, but nearly ready to go live. I do plan to update an alter stuff as I go based on feedback and issues I'll probably run into, but I think it's worth it. There's hardly any mods on it at the moment as it would be a daunting task trying to add new or existing ones myself, so instead I'm going to provide a means for the community to submit their projects in a format I think will better showcase their work and allow users to find them more quickly. I think the plan for now is to only accept finished projects and not works in progress. I have a facebook group set up for the website if anyone is interested. Yes, it's a private group and yes it's on a platform that mines and sells user info, but it's on a popular "public square" and is easy and free to use. The automated and streamlined moderation tools available are also more appealing for a one man operation, so if you're interested then please request an invite. Otherwise I will still be updating this thread as I go. Here's a link to the FB group - https://www.facebook.com/groups/doomresource/. As soon as the site is ready to start using, or at least I hope it will be, I'll post the link. Let me know your thoughts on the project. If you are interested to volunteer some of your time on this project to help improve or add to it in some way then please shoot me an email or send me a message on this forum. Email: doomresource@gmail.com.

    Places to upload WADs

I'm building a website dedicated to showcasing doom related projects on a modern website that will be visual, have advanced search functionality and will hopefully be the go to for Doom mods. The site is still under construction but is mostly done. Please join the official Facebook group to get involved from posting upcoming projects, discuss existing projects, and overall keep the modding community alive - https://www.facebook.com/groups/doomresource
