  1. Decided to give this a spin. Works exactly out of the box. Changing the ini's is a bit weird since they're pushed to a directory I never really bother with, but after tinkering with the ini's, it plays exactly how I wanted to play it. This is incredible, thank you so much for making this port! Now we just need this to play the GEC release and I'll be completely set for life for my PSX Doom needs.

Doom 64 coming to PC and modern consoles?

Yes, but not by much. I think the run speed for turn is just about what the basic turn for PSX Doom was. I still believe PSX basic turn is still a lot faster than run+turn for Doom 64, but probably not.

Doom 64 coming to PC and modern consoles?

I know the game made use of analog movement, but that doesn't stop it from having a turn input that is unfortunately super slow. Like I said, it's not a huge complaint, I'd just like the turn input's be faster like they are in PSX Doom. I could just go for pure vanilla and use analog as you said, but since this game now has an official release, I'd like to voice my opinion and see if anything can be done. I can't be the only one that feels this, but I'm sure I'm the minority anyways, hah.

Doom 64 coming to PC and modern consoles?

If I may ask, since the devs are around here. Is it possible to increase the turning speed for Doom 64 with the D-Pad to match the speed in PSX Doom? The turning speed for it at present is very slow (and has been since the original N64 release). If it's not possible, then I guess I'll just suck it up and use mouse and keyboard. But since this release is trying to capture a 1:1 of the original, I'd like to play this with a controller. ...Nothing wrong with the default controls, by the way. I just want to have this set up like the PSX Doom default controller configuration.

Does anyone think that DOOM 64 sucks?

Doom 64 is the worst Doom game to ever Doom in Doom. First of all, what happened to the other Dooms? Second of all, Doom 64 is literally a Doom clone. /s

What was the first custom wads you have played?

I honestly can't remember the first one. I do remember however trying custom wads for the first time when Zdoom was the newest thing and most of the authors were trying to make use of exclusive Zdoom features. Think one of the reasons for this was just how easy/simple it was to run a pwad with Zdoom for pre-teen me.
  7. Coincidentally, map 41 exit leads to the end screen. All other exits from map 01-90 work as intended.

    Fear - Are You Afraid

Thank you for your input. Well, the lighting is done with OpenGL, but that's because I forced the program to display only in OpenGL (it plays smoother for me). Oh, and to clarify any concerns, I'm making sure that you face no enemies near where visibility is an issue. The whole map though is going to be using a very dark atmosphere, but not to the point where you can't see what's ahead of you.
  9. Yes, well I've been working on something for the Doom Community and since this is my first time contributing to the community, I would like to say a big hello to everyone. Now that's out of the way, lets get down to what this is. Fear is a map (obviously) for, not Doom... not Doom 2. It's not a map for any source port. No, quite beyond that actually. This map is for Kaiser's creation of a wonderful TC using a modified Doomsday Engine, Doom 64: Absolution; An almost near identical port from the N64's, Doom 64. The reason I choose to do this, it's because I virtually see no one make an attempt to map using Kaiser's modified Doomsday Engine. Granted I heard how hard and complex editing with it is. It'll be quite sad not to see anyone make an attempt with it, as Doom 64 is my favorite Doom game. I'm sure others feel the same way, and I'm also sure others would severely disagree with me. Well, with that out of the way, about this map. Note that the following information is up at Wads In Progress. Story with no meaning: You wake up and you notice that everyone is gone. The lights are dim and you have no idea how you got there in the first place. You can barely see what's ahead of you, but you all know to well that it can't be anything good. The smell of meat reaches your nostrils... rotten meat that is. It disgusts you, because you know what's in the darkness as you've seen them so many times in your time here on Mars. It's the demons. Screenshots Progress: I'm about 50% done with construction of the whole map while only about 30% done with details and Thing placements.
