    GZDoom: "Integer Overflow"

    Its an interesting odd setup. A laptop with two(!) AMD graphics cards. No cheap Intel crap here, fortunately. Im no computer expert though, so I wouldnt be surprised if thier configured badly.

  3. I disagree with all of them. Fun fact: In my detailed feedback PM I actually typed "Ochre Twilight" but replaced it with brown at the last second. I beleive the name should hint towards the awesome end room.

    1.7 I usually have Doom Expanded loaded too, but it will crash the same regardless. Seems to be any largescale fights with Revenants involved.

    Its the same bug you fixed before, I think you accidentally left it out of the newest version, as the TNT brightmaps are dated 2011. When you load up TNT with the brightmaps, as its loading you'll see an error in the log about a missing brightmap or something like that, SWGSTONE I think?
  6. From the Master Levels sub-discussion above. This whole thread got a whole lot of sneaky edits to it, so im not surprised everyones getting confused here. Im using the awesome ZDoom frontend for them, but it doesnt fix the horrible bugs on a few of them. One of Chris Klie's levels isnt even completable without using IDCLIP :/" EDIT: For your Hell to Pay patch, has this issue been addressed? "They also have a host of new sounds to go along with the mechanical enemies resulting in some gaffes; the mechanized sounds replace some of the generic demon noises which are shared by the upper-class demons."

    8+ hours of one map, several breaks (usually when GZDoom crashed), and I still felt like death when I went to bed that night. It was like my entire back was screaming :D That corridor looks pretty cool btw, all curvy

    That could be a good idea for a project I think. A tribute to the original Master Levels, its the only Doom product that lacks such a thing. "The Master Levels the way Shawn Green co-ordinated" lolololol And Qoncept: Probably because its an official id product. When I bought these, I filled the gap and now have every PC classic Doom (Ultimate Doom, Doom 2, Master Levels for Doom 2, Final Doom, Lost Episodes of Doom, Perditions Gate, Hell to Pay). All I need now is a PC version of Doom 3 BFG Edition for No Rest for the Living, but that ones a special case. Im not paying all that money just for Nerve's level set thats inside a game I alredy own for the PS3 Kmxexii: That was a really good read. *gets lost reading other related reviews*

I'll be having "time off" from testing tomorrow (My brother's getting pissy about a DVD TV series ive put off two days in a row thanks to Doom), but you can expect Map 3+ during the weekend

    Playtesting Devilution's Map 29. I think I did quite well with the items/secrets. Got all 1153 monsters too ;] The time there should give an idea how big the penultimate map is, and thats not even counting the millions of deaths! It took me all day. ALL DAY. And just because its the funniest screenshot ive seen in a long time: Its not enough to have the seargent steal the spider's kill, the spider then REPEATEDLY stomps on my head..

    Whoops, miscounted. I downloaded all seven known rejects while playing through the main levels, havent played them yet. Yeah, TNT Map 1 and 17 were originally Master Levels rejects.
  12. Dear god, Map 29, Brown Map, took me all goddamn day to complete, and I kind of want to slap Kyka for some of the things I had to suffer through. Some of the fights are completely unfair and need a bit of tuning, I dont enjoy being trapped in one fight for an hour or more :/ The map itself looks really good, it really fits its map slot now. I would like a bit of "fusion" though, the name of the level was decided to be Veridian Twilight...but it doesnt feel right anymore. I'll have to IDDQD + IDCLIP the original green version for a full comparison. Total killcount btw: 1153. I swear 1/5th of those are Revenants >_> As usual, a screenshot laden report will be sent later, including stuff from the new version of Map 2

    GZDoom gameplay options question

    Any way to have this same effect with a controller, but only for Doom? I want freelook to remain in Heretic and so on, where it was part of the base game, but not Doom.

    I think I'll play the PSX TC and remind myself what my very first encounters of the levels were like, with the special effects that the Playstation used. I cant wait to see the PSX TC's Lost Levels versions of the remaining Master Levels. I know Bloodsea Keep was done already. Whats the general opinion on the known rejected levels? Tom Mustaine had a Inmost Dens style map that was thrown out the door by Mcgee, seemingly in a tantrum, and Chris Klie has five on the archive. Any others aside from these?

    The new version still has the faulty TNT brightmaps from 2011 included. Also, why am I getting double ammo drops? Its throwing off game balance :(

    Nemark, if your collecting Master Level related stuff, Tom Mustaine had a Inmost Dens tribute map that was rudely rejected from the project. You can get it off his site :D

    Things about Doom you just found out

    I found out the Master Level's teeth.wad atually means T.E.E.T.H, ie The Express Elevator to Hell. Yes this is amazingly obvious, but ive always thought it was randomly named after actual teeth >_> I facepalmed HARD.
  19. The Garrison. When acquiring the red key, you'll be stuck inside a platform. Dr Sleep's Nessus and Vesperas also have items/secrets you cant get, because he placed them in closets you cant enter, and the items are too far back. I like the idea for the extra Lost Episode stuff, but I'd add only a fourth, to keep with the original. Also add secret levels (Maybe from Klie's rejected Master Levels?/levels that emulate his style?)

One of Chris Klie's levels isnt even completable without using IDCLIP :/ As for Lost Episodes, the only thing I ever disliked about them (ignoring the devious way they were sold) was the complete lack of secret levels. Every time those are missing, I feel like im playing an incomplete product. EDIT: My brother had my original Hell To Pay + Perditions Gate files on his computer. Crisis averted!

  22. Cool, I've been waiting for you to announce this, ever since that vague post on the Doom Expanded thread. Fished up my Lost Episodes wad too. Was even going to play it last night, but chose Master Levels instead. I guess I know what my next wad is for certain!

    You should get the Master Levels from Steam and finish the official id levels. I would also recommend No Rest for the Living as well, but you have to buy the entire Doom 3 BFG Edition for that.. You already have Doom the way id Did to cover Ultimate Doom, for Doom 2 I often hear Memento Mori and Reqiuem are good starter megawads. Also try Icarus, its from the same guys who made TNT Evilution. Alien Vendetta you might want to hold off on for now, its leagues above anything else mentioned here. AV even rivals Hell Revealed in a few places

    The Master Levels using the ZDoom frontend and Doom Expanded. I dont remember them being this hard.
