  1. I thought the first 11 levels were excellent, some of the best levels I've played. I enjoyed them more than doom's original e1, e2, and DTWIDD. Very well done. As for the rest of the maps, not my style. They are so different from the first 11 maps they don't feel like they belong in the same wad.

    My all maps

Played through the mansion level. The good: -Nicely detailed -Interesting encounters The bad: -Switch hunting, finding out where to go next took quite some time -Misaligned textures -Very cramped in some places

RELEASED: Year 22 -A Rock and a Hard Place-

Fun map, solid gameplay. Beat it the first try on UV, I didn't think it was too hard. Mostly due to the large amount of health available. The structure of the level also allowed for easy movement which helped a lot. That said there were some tense moments but I don't want to spoil it for anyone.

    Playtest anyone?

Nice progression of difficulty, map03 was definitely more difficult than the other two. I tested on UV. The traps were great, but the sparse ammo was what really made the map a challenge. Had no problem finding where to go next. Very aesthetically pleasing, I don't think I'll ever have the patience to put that much detail into any of my maps. Great mapset, looking forward to the final map.

    Playtest Please

Love your maps. Great gameplay. I played on UV. Plenty of monsters; ammo and health is balanced imo. Good barrel placement. I had no problem finding where to go next. Hard for me to find any fault with this map, I suppose adding 2-4 extra pinky demons to the level might make it more fun. I'll see if I can figure out how to do a boom demo.
  9. This could easily be my favorite wad ever. Great detail, great gameplay. Not too crazy about maps 5 and 10. The rest however are simply awesome, especially maps 3 and 7.
  10. Comments and criticism are greatly appreciated. Demos are awesome too. This is an experimental map, a little different than my usual style. 11. Same stuff I usually listen to. Mostly Zappa and Magma.

Maybe I'll finish someday. These maps are 1024 style, designed to be as action packed as possible. The first few maps are a warm up, from maps four and on things become pretty damn difficult. All these levels are beatable, play on I'm too young to die if it's too hard (half damage). Skip map05 if it won't complete when all the monsters are dead. Changes from regular doom: Pistol: Shoots about 50% faster. Shotgun: Shoots about 20% faster. Two kinds of ammo. Slugs: Does about 40% more damage than the standard doom shotgun, no spread. Buckshot: Does the same damage and has the same spread as doom's SSG. Uses the new shotgun's rate of fire. Chaingun: Shoots about 50% faster. Monsters: All the same except lost souls, which have 30 health now instead of the standard 100. There are some new monsters however. Minicaco: Flies around and shoots at you. Less health than a zombieman. Bormereth: Revives monsters like an archvile and also has the same amount of health. This is a melee monster. RapidFireZombie: Like a zombieman, but with twice as much health and fires much faster. Source Guardian: Same amount of health as a cacodemon. Fires grenades which bounce around. Run in Zdoom 2.2.0 or higher. Please bind an alt-fire key. I suggest disabling auto-aim and enabling mouselook. Enabling jumping can be helpful. 14. Thanks for the feedback. The arch vile flames piss me off too, changing the graphic or making the flames translucent has been on my to do list for awhile.
  15. Thanks, dunno what happened to the link, was working at first. Will be fixed in a couple min... Edit: Link fixed.

    Speedmapping this weekend?

Does the 100 minutes for speedmapping include playtesting? I'm assuming it does.

    Speedmapping this weekend?

http://www.sendspace.com/file/4ga7qj http://www.mediafire.com/?a4jeejvn21s 96 minutes. First try at speedmapping, was pretty fun. Gonna test it now to see if it's beatable, turned out to be pretty hard. Edit: It's beatable, final room turned out to be easier than I hoped. Overall it's still pretty tough though.
  18. Thanks, that's what I was looking for. Awesome music. /thread
  19. http://www.doomworld.com/idgames/index.php?id=13913 So, is anybody familiar with the music in this wad? The readme has TeamTNT, 3DRealms, and Epic Megagames listed under credits for music. Specifically I would like to use the music from maps 12 and 16 in one of my wads. I don't know where to find the music though, or if I need permission to use it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Playtest anyone?

*Spoilers in feedback* Good map, good gameplay, but I liked the first one better. The monster spawn trap in map01 felt more like an ambush, in map02 it was too easy to line up the monsters spawned from the traps and mow them down imo. Upon loading the new wad I noticed the sky texture was the default, not the night sky texture. Was this change intentional? The atmosphere of the map feels pretty blah with the default sky imo. I ran the wad using Zdoom 2.2.0 and 2.3.0.

    Abyssus - Replaces E2M3

Played through a 2nd time with the chaingun, went quite a bit more smoothly but still pretty difficult. Managed to complete the level without saving this time, 7/9 secrets. I forgot to mention that I ran into some kind of textural bug in the outside area with the gate and acid. The gate can be seen through the ground. This was with Zdoom 2.2.0 and 2.3.0. http://img189.imageshack.us/img189/299/screenshotdoom200906061p.png

    Abyssus - Replaces E2M3

Yeah, that was definitely harder than the other two. It was a lot of fun though. Some of the secrets were pretty cool, would have been much harder without them, especially since I never found the chaingun. Only played through it once though. Just nitpicking here, but in my opinion the map had too many tight areas where there wasn't enough room to move around. Excellent map Mr. Chris, I'm looking forward to playing your next one.

Download works for me now. EDIT: Tried to run Hell Entrance in ZDoom 2.3.1, doesn't work. Got error message: "You cannot use clearepisodes in a MAPINFO if you do not define any new episodes after it." Also got the same error with Nightmare.
