In version 2.0 I will add 11 new enemies. Perhaps even more. All enemies will be unique and fit well into the atmosphere of the mod.

Not sure if it is a right place to ask, but it can be nice to just take some enemies from "Project Malice" enemy pack (of course with permission from The Blue Savior), so there is not gonna be a need to download an ~100+ Mb enemy pack that (usually) is considered as separate mod with its own name.

Taking enemies from the "project malice" separately will be very problematic, and at the same time I don't see the point in it

I'm getting an error using the latest build, both in GzDoom and LzDoom. Tried swapping out the HUD files as well, but got the same issue. This is just running ALALN by itself, did I do something incorrectly?

 

Big fan of the mod though, last version was a lot of fun to play! It's only this latest one giving me issues running it.

Thanks for the quick reply! Yeah, at first I thought maybe it was an engine thing or something, but it's never given me issues in GzDoom before, and LzDoom got the same exact error.

I tried to deal with the error. But everything works fine for me. Verify in the readme that the startup order is correct. Also, if you do the launch order via ctrl plus left mouse button, then you will have to do it in reverse order. And I would like to know when exactly this error occurs.

Got it working, the error was due to missing the monster pack, didn't realize that was mandatory. Seems like it's working fine in GzDoom now!

Yeah, I'd probably update the readme just to note that the monster pack is required, because right now it just looks like an addon. I think the earlier versions didn't have it either, right? I remember playing it with whatever before. And honestly I feel like the monster count might be a bit *too* low, especially with that pack because it ends up being underutilized for how big it is.

 

I understand the mod's going for more of a horror angle, but only having like 3-4 enemies in a map is a little too low, even for the vanilla Doom 1 and 2 maps. I think I liked the balance better before where there was a bit more combat balanced alongside the horror.

This pack of monsters has always been in my fashion. Also, many new enemies were changed and added, which I took from different resources. The fact that there are few enemies was conceived, and it is unlikely that I will greatly increase their number at the levels. I removed the spawn of many enemies from this pack of monsters, due to the fact that half of the enemies do not look interesting, but now I left the most interesting ones. In version 2.0, I will probably improve the spawning of monsters a little.

holding a lighter you can shoot either a pistol or an ssg. Just recharge them

it's kind of broken there is no Hud I have to use gzdoom cause lzdoom is low res and just does not look right with the mod. GZdoom  works well but it just feels broken zdl works fine though.

how to fix the hud: go to the settings in "display options" -> "screen size" - set the parameter higher, it's like 11

I do have a problem with healing though I do not know for using the bandages the keybind for and shift puts the error on screen.

you still need to go to "options" > "hud options" > "alternative hud" and disable "enable alternate hud". In the settings, you can assign keys to use items. Running throws an error, but you can go to HUD Options > Message Options and turn off Show Message to not see the error.
