Pros and cons of doom, the BFG edition

Pros:

- Gravis Ultrasound midis

- Free Doom 1 and 2

- No Rest For The Living

Cons

- SSG Sounds a bit weird

- Wolfenstein levels are censored

- No Rest For The Living

- No cheats are allowed :(

Also they replaced the medkits and stimpacks crosses with pills

Cons: 

No autorun switch, so keep holding the shift botton.

No Co-op or MP.

Stuck at 35 FPS.

Yeah, that kinda sucks. I like like what they did with the Unity Port, though. It censors the levels for Nazi-symbolism banning countries, but still keeps the whole vibe to it. The BFG version was just censored to the extreme, and the levels felt like they had absolutely no reference to Wolfenstein in them.

I guess at the time they didn't want to go through the effort to modify the textures like Torus did with the GBA port

Also remember the stimpacks and medkits, they replaced the crosses with red and white pills, because the symbol being copyright and they threaten legal action when it's used in video games

Getting the BFG edition on the 360 was my first exposure to E4 and NRFTL, which I love.

 

Changing weapons is horrible. You have to scroll through them one at a time, though you can use shortcuts on the d-pad, but the d-pad on the 360 sucks and rarely does what I think I am telling it to.
