fruity lerlups Posted December 21, 2023 Hi i've been trying to perfect my UV-Max of Rush Map12 but i'm encountering a bit of a roadblock, 20/30 of the enemies dont seem to spawn, now this doesn't happen all the time but its been happening recently. They are all located in spawners on the right hand side of the map, I was playing on boom (strict), should I use a different compat? is there a spawner linedef i'm missing? 0 Share this post Link to post
RjY Posted December 21, 2023 Open the map in an editor Zoom in on the holding areas that have not deployed their contents Go into sector mode and click on the tagged parts, these are the parts that move to release the monsters Zoom out again If your editor is worth its salt, it will highlight the lines with the same tag Now you can go back in game and press on or walk over them as necessary Your screenshot is so tiny that it is hard to tell which holding areas have not deployed, but I have tried. Apologies, I must have woken on the wrong side of the bed today. Good luck with your efforts. I remember dying on this map in an Ironman credit continue. I was able to clear it on Hey Not Too Rough but I would not dare attempt it UV pistol start. 2 Share this post Link to post

I was able to clear it on Hey Not Too Rough but I would not dare attempt it UV pistol start. yeah ive sorta got the strats right, its just ive had some weirdness with spawners that prevents me from getting 100% and it seems to have something to do with complevels, it seems to be consistent with doom (strict) or boom (strict), ive been considering just playing it on dsda or prboom instead of gzdoom, i just like certain configuration options in gzdoom more but its compatibility issues are driving me nuts 0 Share this post Link to post
Shepardus Posted December 21, 2023 Did you get the plasma gun, and the cell pack in the opposite corner of the area where that's at? At least one of the groups that you screenshotted is tied to that, and I didn't have any trouble triggering it with Boom (strict) compatibility. Each of them is a separate trigger, so you need to pass over the lines even if you have full ammo. I'm not about to play the rest of the map to check, but for the rest you can take a look at the relevant lines and sectors in an editor, e.g. UDB/SLADE, to see what points to what. Learning that much isn't hard, you just enter lines/sectors mode and mouse over the lines/sectors you want to examine. 1 Share this post Link to post
bofu Posted December 21, 2023 Not sure if the teleporters rely on Boom scrollers or not, but you might check to make sure the option for "Book Scrollers are additive" is turned on in compatibility settings.
