swantz Posted September 18, 2005 Is there any way to convert Zdaemon demo files int .avi format? Thanks. 0 Share this post Link to post
Bashe Posted September 18, 2005 No, since demos are just recordings of your movements and not actually pictures. 0 Share this post Link to post
Bloodshedder Posted September 18, 2005 You can play them back and capture the video with something like Fraps. 0 Share this post Link to post
swantz Posted September 20, 2005 I bought FRAPS not too long ago but the FPS lowers ridiculously when I use it Zdoom drops from around 200 or so FPS on 1024*768 to 12 or so, and Zdaemon drops form 30 to 12 as well. Other games that are much bigger memory hogs and much more graphically demanding don't cause this problem. 0 Share this post Link to post
Bloodshedder Posted September 20, 2005 I'm guessing your other games don't run in software mode. FRAPS eats CPU cycles capturing and writing to your drive, and software rendering is more dependent on CPU power than is Direct3D or OpenGL rendering. 0 Share this post Link to post
swantz Posted September 20, 2005 So in other words unless I buy some $3000 new pc (or upgrade this one out the wazoo) I can't do too much? 0 Share this post Link to post
Bloodshedder Posted September 21, 2005 Try lowering your resolution, and lower the framerate of the video capture settings. 0 Share this post Link to post
