  1. Post Your Doom Picture (Part 2)

Progress on my first city map is coming along nicely....
  2. Doggy

Really creative and pretty challenging, these maps have a great soundtrack and stunning visuals. Map flow is dynamic and unconventional. I'll be playing these again at some point for sure!
  3. Post Your Doom Picture (Part 2)

I tried it. Unfortunately, the map is so big that the lost souls just kind of float around in the void forever if they miss you.... but i have a custom Bloody Head enemy that would fit better!
  4. Post Your Doom Picture (Part 2)

3d floor skulls and bright lights
  5. Fun! Trying to overcome hurdles and you're not sure how at the beginning is not fun. But once you've learned enough to have a little bag of tricks at your disposal, it's one of the most enjoyable things you can do (in my opinion)
  6. Post Your Doom Picture (Part 2)

So cool! Does it use actual light values or is it texture?
  7. Baron Of Hell VS Revenant

I think Hell Knight vs Revenant would be a better match up. Since monsters don't dodge projectiles like players, it comes down to a sheer battle of might almost 100% of the time, which the baron easily wins.
  8. Post Your Doom Picture (Part 2)

What a beautifully laid spread of corpses. Is DOOM corpse art a thing? it should be.
  9. Brutal Doom v19

Did you get permission to post that?
  10. Post your Doom textures!

Im part of a bunch of texture sharing sites, so I tweak them and make them seamless, also sometimes I go snap pictures of cool brickwork, turn them seamless and make them small so they fit in doom better. A few are hand drawn. Thanks!
  11. Post your Doom textures!

I'm b-b-back with some new textures. Again, if you want to use these feel free.
  12. Post Your Doom Picture (Part 2)

a new totem pole prop i made and some other thing
  13. Post Your Doom Picture (Part 2)

I think i'm really improving with my map layouts, just the overall shape is pleasing... What do you think?
  14. Do you actually run away from enemy encounters?

Archviles and hitscanners (especially chaingunners) will totally shred you in certain maps if you don't run to take cover. Other than that I usually try to kill everything before proceeding, but alerting everything in the level and THEN going to town can be just as much if not more fun.
  15. My first Doom Wad.

So I just gave it a playthrough. Looks pretty good for a first wad! However it'd be pointless to even leave a comment if i didn't give some suggestions: The Music is far too loud, to the point where it overshadows every sound effect in classic DOOM. This can easily be remedied with a simple audio editing program like audacity, and lowering the amplification a bit. The gameplay is very cramped. While this isn't always a bad thing, it sort of works against you in most situations. The monster layout was OK, I wasn't really fond the inclusion of the archvile, or the lost soul room. The map has a nice tempo that is shattered by the archviles inclusion, if you want to introduce a tough monster as early as map 1, try giving a slightly more powerful weapon than just the basic shotgun and chaingun. There is an area in the archvile room where you can fall down into water and you cannot escape. Either make the floor damaging, or provide a lift, otherwise this will lead to a frustrating dead end for people who like to explore maps for untagged secrets ect. Lighting is very important! Especially since you included lights on the sides of almost every door. Try making those sectors a little bit brighter, or give them a flicker effect. I hope this doesn't come across as rude, for your first map this is pretty good. Keep mapping and play a lot of maps! You'll only get better.
