You absolutely can, As long as the game is installed, But you still have to have the launcher to download them, But if for some reason you wanted to delete the launcher after downloading something you could still do it Valve makes tons of money with a small amount of employees to pay, They made an estimated 13 billion dollars last year so i don't really think steam is gonna go for a really long time.

Another thing you could do is open your gzdoom.ini and scroll down till you see "[doom.id.doom2.Autoload]" and the on the line under it put "path=the path to the lawnmower mod" and then go one down again and do the same thing myhouse.wad So it should look like this [doom.id.doom2.Autoload] path=the path to the lawnmower mod path=the path to myhouse And when you load up Doom 2 it should work
