As the topic states. Is there a tool that can mass change texture/flat names or mobj numbers on Doom map's (by which I mean across several maps) or change all of them based of a simple custom criteria?

A simple solution for name changes is a search/replace in a hex editor.

But it's not precise enough for changing numbers, which are a lot more ambiguous.

Ah.
I guess it hardly suprises me that there must be an attempt at such a program out there somewhere given how long Doom has been around. Thanks for pointing it out.

However, I say attempted because it doesn't actually seem to work. I tried it on copies of a couple of wad's, including an IWAD and all it did was partially trash any map I tried to change the textures/flats on in certain ways; adjusting floor hieghts, replacing textures/flats I didn't ask it to change with unknown graphics and moving the actual positions of linedef's and sectors etc (i.e attaching them to different vertexes).

I'm also after something that can do multiple maps at once, which this program doesn't seem to allow.

So, Gez, pretty please with a cherry on top :p
