Delta 2b unreachable armor

In the very beginning of this level the first enemy you encounter is a burning zombie. The small room he stumbles out of has a security armor in it but there is a burst pipe that will burn you if you try to reach it. Its not unreachable exactly but you lose a ton of health getting it.

I have looked everywhere and I can't find a panel or anything to stop the fire like you can in a few spots earlier in the game.

Has anyone discovered a trick to getting this armor without taking damage?

I did some searching and nobody seems to know. Where it's mentioned, it's simply stated you can't get it because of the flames.

That's awfully nasty of them to put that there to tease you. At least it's armor, which is probably the least critical pickup in the game.

Considering that armor placement is obscenely liberal in the game, you might as well let that one be.
