XYH Posted August 25, 2014 Hi! Been searching everywhere but didn't find. How do i make detail-texturing in gzdoom? 0 Share this post Link to post
Zed Posted August 25, 2014 What do you mean? Are you trying to get a higher resolution for a given pwad in GZDoom or are you trying to make a wad in Doom Builder and want it to show "better" in GZDoom, for example, or just want your textures (the ones I assume you're using for your wad) to be more detailed? 0 Share this post Link to post
mikeo007 Posted August 25, 2014 I don't think there is detail texture support in GZdoom. GLBoom+ supports it though I think. Your best bet would just be to use high-res textures with the detail already baked in. 0 Share this post Link to post
Avoozl Posted August 25, 2014 Just don't use a hi-res pack with jpg textures, last time I tried a hi-res pack it had jpg's with very noticeable artifacts and obviously looked terrible. :P 0 Share this post Link to post
XYH Posted August 25, 2014 Ahh, wasn't sure about it. Detail texturing is good when used right. And especially for older engines considering that using too high res for any doom engine port is kind of overkill. As for JPEG, it should almost be a crime to use it unless ofc the compression artifact is extremely small. 0 Share this post Link to post
