ZDaemon is not dead. I don't think I have ever logged into my account and not found people playing on a server. Survival and duels pretty much all the time with FFA going most nights. There is also the many weekly events. I don't want to seem biased however all of the three main ports have their perks. I love Zandronum because of the compatibility with mods. I really like Odamex because of how faithful it is to DOOM. It also has the cool features like getting rid of the bright red screen when taking damage and making the gun model transparent. The updated software renderer is cool too. I wish more people played it usually every time I check the servers are empty. They don't have an account system either and it can be used with doomseeker. I don't understand why it isn't used more.

Downloaded the latest version the sounds are really high pitched almost kind of fake sounding any idea how I can fix? Win10. I messed with all the options.

I have so much to say about this. I've been hosting Wednesday Night Deathmatch and Friday Night Survival on Zandronum and ZDaemon for over a year now. GZDoom is the port I prefer to play SP with and for a while I wished for a purely C/S GZ port but thinking about it now Zandronum has a very different feel to the movement and gun play IMO compared to classic Doom 2 or ZDaemon and Odamex. For a while I wished this was not the case but thinking about it now thats ok that its different because it facilitates other game modes that play very well in this manner like Deathball. I also love the fact Zandronum allows me to play more advanced map sets and mods with my friends since it supports decorate and pk3 files and all that stuff, however I think we are reaching a point in the Doom timeline where Zandronum and GZ reaching some sort of merge is critical to the future of modding and online play for mods and maps sets. I think an updated version of Zandronum with support for some of the newer features and scripting languages from GZ would be amazing. I understand that's probably not an easy task to accomplish I certainly can't do it but as an event hoster and player I think right now is a critical time for Zan and GZ devs to come together. I understand that today at this moment people are playing Zan every day and that Zan is an excellent port but if no progress is made the trends on player count and active servers will fall and the incentive to mod may die out if people can't play it online with their friends.

MDF ONE-DAY OS Dwango TDM TOURNAMENT scheduled for Saturday, April 25th @4pm EDT/ 10pm CEST on ZDaemon. Rules: - Games will be played best of three except for the finals which will be best of five. - Your team will be randomly assigned another team to play once in the server both teams will call a coinflip the winner gets to pick the first map. The loser gets to pick the second map. If a third round is needed another coinflip will settle who gets to pick. - You can only choose the same map once per match up. In other words you cant choose the same map for the third round of your match up that you played on the first or second round. - There will be 4 servers up for the event two NA and two EU which location will be determined by majority or a coinflip in case of a tie. - Tournament will be double elimination style winners bracket will have one win advantage in the finals.
