The Connect-The-Dot Series

A rather odd set of deathmatch levels. Created by drawing random dots on graph paper, and then connecting the dots. The levels might actually prove to be fun, as there are several areas in each map which are kind of hidden.
Each level has a 5 minute timer. After the 5 minutes are up, a new map is randomly chosen.

The Bar (for Hexen)

You're tired after a hard day's adventuring, so you decided to pop into a bar to have a nice sloshing. Suddenly, an Ettin from a table across from you perks his drunken head up from his mead and says "Gruffnlggg." You take it as a drunken slobber, but across the bar the Ettin is overheard by a Wendigo who is deeply offended, because, in his language, "Gruffnlggg" means "I spit on your tax returns and call your mother `just another vehicle for butter.'" Instantly, the Wendigo throws a beer mug across the pub. It misses it's intended target and instead hits an Afrit who is deeply offended because, in his culture, hitting someone with a beer mug means "will you marry me." The Afrit, inscenced, shoots a trail of fire at the Wendigo as a stern sign that he is not ready for marriage but, "would like to still be friends." Unfortunately, the trail of fire misses the Wendigo, and instead hits a Slaughter in the face, who, in his reasoning, takes a trail of fire in the face as a sign to start killing things. Instantly, chaos ensues. And you thought you were going to have a nice rest...

Hexen Minotaur

It's a Hexen DeathMatch level, great 2 way, goes better 3 or 4. Sort of the same style as map one...but it wasn't based on MAP01, it just feels a bit like it :). It's more fun than the levels in Hexen, since Hexen's levels lack some of that DM feel (except map 1) and so on. Just try it...! :)

A cool deathmatch wad for Hexen inspired by a snow storm on January 7, 1995. My friends and I have tried it in deathmatch, and it rules! It is the perfect size for deathmatch and the number of artifacts is perfectly balanced throughout the level. The deathmatch takes place in an icy cave where there just happens to be all kinds of weapons and crap thrown around...

No it does not have super detailed design but it does have details that make it an enjoyable game play. the way textures line up perfectly for example buttons on a washing machine and the railing for the stairs is very clever and Its cool to see the use of textures in this way.
I enjoyed the lack of linear game play and the lack of typical puzzle solving. You sneak around the houses and with uncertainty what is around each corner you find that the monsters keep coming out of nowhere. The houses give you cover to protect your self and its cool to see the little details in each house. There is more than enough ammunition and you wont be able to pick up every item. Its very fun to play doom in this more relaxed free roam style.
To those who have played many doom levels and have high expectations you may dislike this map but for someone like me who likes the older style of maps its very enjoyable. -
By fnord · PostedExtremely dull and extremely repetitive, but sadly, not the worst of it's kind. Looks and plays like one of those awful software auto-generated map sets. Room after identical looking square rooms with small mobs of low level monsters and the occasional Baron, Revenant or Mancubus. Played it to the end and I can't remember a single level that differentiated itself from any of the others. Wad of last resort if you have nothing better to do. -

I don't like the cyberdemon placement and the easternmost wing is a missed opportunity regarding monsters (it is big, ominous looking and completely empty initially, and when monsters start appearing, they turn out to be some imps and demons...). The pace is luckily much better in all three western areas. Very nice texturing of mostly grey stuff, including incidental good (!) usage of GREYTALLS. -
By Bri0che · PostedEverything is too big and/or empty, some parts are literally useless door transitions without anything in it, monsters are ridiculously placed… What a shame, because we feel like the author could had made better, but stayed on something way bellow its means :/ Well, I'm saying that, but this is a first map after all, so I don't want to be too bad, and leave a 3/5 as Misty did, but this objectively deserve less.
