  8. This is a patch that should fix the problem that is associated with certain early versions of Doom2 1.666, where the screen garbles up into a big pile of muck when you enter a level. With some help from numerous people - sorry I can't remember everyone who helped(but thanx!) - I was able to trace it to being a problem that exists with DeHacked 3.0 and how it works with this particualar version of Doom. The weird thing is that some copies of Doom2 1.666 actually work and others didn't. This patch should work for all versions of Doom2 - I hope....

  12. This is a patch to repair some bugs that were brought to my attention by some players...Mainly the problem with the game crashing on level one whenever you loaded a new game or died has been fixed, as well as a few subtle structural flaws in a couple of the other levels.

  15. This is an update of the ATC program for DOOM v1.9, updated for use with Ultimate DOOM v1.9.

    I did not create the ATC module itself, merely modified it for use with Ultimate DOOM. Give credit to Justin Fisher, he's the one who did all the work. :)

  16. Second release of total conversion patch, rebuilt levels, new graphics and effects. There are some vast improvements over the first release, which should be seen immediately. Foremost are the aliens themselves, which have reworked graphics and behavior patterns which make them more real then ever. Warriors now attack in different ways, which is much cooler, because it looks kind of stupid when they always bite you the same way, especially when there are ten of them at the same time that are attacking you. Sometimes they run across the ceilings(those graphics where redone better this time too) and hang on walls. Sometimes they will claw you and sometimes they will bite. The queen has been redone a bit as well as some of the weapons. The levels have been extensively rebuilt, using much more real logic then before(no more ammo lying around unless there is a body next too it, etc...) and several have been replaced by much better(and bigger) levels. There were some sound bugs before(marines making alien sounds) that have been fixed too.

  19. This is a 3-level .WAD I decided to make after downloading the Aliens DOOM graphics/sound patch off the Internet. The levels that came with this patch really sucked, so I decided to make my own for single and Co-Op play. These levels feature realistic lighting, lots of attention to detail and tons of action. Hope you enjoy it!

  23. A new Xenomorph that runs across the ceiling for anybody out there building Aliens conversions, that replaces the Baron of Hell. There is another one I've seen that does the ceiling thing, but that one is kind of lame and doesn't have very good action at all. This guy was made from a regular ground dwelling dude from one of the other patches and redrawn a bit for life running across the ceiling. I had to squish him up a bit and redraw some of the tails and arms and stuff, and do a little rearranging of the pictures to give it a realistic crawling motion, with a violent, tail whipping, teeth gnashing attitude, but the final result was well worth it;}

  24. This ZIP contains the 2 levels E2M1 and E3M2 of ALIENS-TC without bugs. In these levels (which have the same map), the big pillar in the left corner of the first big room had a bug : when looking at it, the computer slows down dramatically (especially when playing cooperatively). All will work properly if you take this file.

      I believe this pack sets a new standard for this series - this is the best one with all maps pulling through. Maybe I wasn't fond of the endless "Living End" tributes, but the maps are nicely twisted to not feel like a repetition of the old map.   Some maps can be lengthy, but the entire pack shouldn't take an hour to beat. Difficulty is moderate.

      Excellent re-imagining of Doom II's last episode. Some levels are noticeably close to their originals but with so much more detail and depth to them. I thought the gameplay was really good too. Amazing all around.

      The map description states that Haruko tried to express his depressive feelings through the texturing and that came through. The dim lighting and midi went a long way in helping it to sell the depressive feeling.   The geometry was solid with some particularly nice detailing here and there but the actual layout was really good. The central hub worked well with keeping you on track.   The monster placement was on point and led to interesting fights - particularly the ones involving archviles. I really found the difficulty to be just about perfect on UV.   The crescendo at the end worked very well where it was tough but understandable and beatable. At first it's a chaotic mess of monsters, archviles and an Icon of Sin but as you work your way through the madness it starts to make sense.   It takes care and attention to try to express something as abstract as an emotion (other than rage) through Doom wads and I think Greymood did that with the gameplay to back it up. I'd be interested to hear from Haruko if any particular set-piece or element was representative of anything.

      Great re-imagination of Doom 2, the levels look and play good with each having they're own theme and / or different progression style, keeping things fresh, definitely recommended.

      This is okay.  Some unused beta content, lotta console content.  I can appreciate the increased difficulty, but some of the texture and music choices early-on kinda put me off.  Didn't much care for E5M4.   It's not terrible, but it isn't hard to see why the beta maps were scrapped from the final version of the game.  Give it a try, if you're feeling bold.
