  1. The halls of Kh0rne

A medium sized deathmatch wad file that is VERY red. The difficulty settings determine the weapons available. The harder the level the less powerful weapons you can get.

  2. Joe's Deathmatch (Joe's.WAD)

An new deathmatch wad for Doom II - Hell On Earth.. this one has all the weapons and plenty of trip wires, false walls and bonuses...........By Joe

This DOOM II level is kind of a rip-off of a Doom I level that I realy enjoyed playing. I say "kind of" because I haven't played the original for a few months and created this wad from scratch, based on my memory of it. Anyway, it was designed as a deathmatch but has monsters and will play as a single player level as well, all wepons are there and it requires two players to exit (no fair jumping to the next level while your opponent has his BFG down). there are only slight changes through the difficulty levels, but they're there. Good luck finding the pumping station and watch out for trip wires!

With over 100 separate lifts, need I say anything more? LIFTOR was though created with DOOM v1.666 allowing you Eight Channel sound and DeathMatch v2.0 for proper play and desired effect.

  6. LEDGE FOR DOOM I

DeathMatch level for DOOM I, designed for DEATHMATCH 2.0 rules.

If this wad looks familiar it's because, although the level was created from scratch, much of the ideas and level design was shamelessly stolen from my favourite DM level, ledges2i.wad, created by Mark Gresbach.

The heavy duty weapons are quite tricky to get a hold of. Have fun trying to get the plasma gun (just remember my motto - No Pain, No Gain :)

  7. LEDGY FOR DOOM I

DeathMatch level for DOOM I, designed for DEATHMATCH 2.0 rules.

This wad is a follow up to my Ledge level. I hope you're a good jumper because I've provided a lot of unique leaps that you will need to make if you're going to get your hands on some decent weapons.

Special signals have been incorporated into the design of the level to increase the Frag rate on 2 player DM, without sacrificing 3/4 player DM enjoyment.

The level is divided up into 3 main areas - red, green and blue. The red and green areas contain rocket launches and the blue area contains the plasma gun. These three areas are connected via a central room which contains the BFG.

Here's how the signals work: Within each area/room are dark windows. This is where the signals will appear in the form of flamming torches of the appropriate colour.

For Example: If someone in the red area goes for the rocket launcher or some big ammo, then red torches will appear in various windows thru-out the level. Likewise a similar indication will be shown for activity in the blue and green areas.

Special bright flashing white lights indicate that someone is going for the BFG. People in the blue area are given the benefit of an early indication of this, and so are given an opportunity to stop their enemy (if they're fast enough :)

I advise you to have a look around in single player mode before playing DM, and practice getting the weapons (and the 200% armour).

  12. JUNK.WAD

This is a small wad. I made it for two player death match. It is small enough to run on about any machine. I play it with a friend using a serial cable. It is pretty straight foward and the better player will win big.

If you want to practice up on your skills, try single player mode with monsters. There is one cyberdemon in the level. It will test some of the best players. The monster will follow you through the entire level if it is given a chance. There is no exit. I did not put an exit in this level, but feel free to add one if you want to. I don't like to death match with an exit on the map. Too many players will run for the exit if they are behind on the frag count. With no exit, players are forced to get some skills or die. That is how it should be.

  13. KILL 'EM! v1.2

A strictly Deathmatch level (the ONLY way to play Doom!). Try single player and you'll die of boredom instead of demon attacks. Here's a basic rundown of things you will and won't find in this level.

    Will find:
    Perfect texture alignment
    Nice lighting effects
Plenty of items, but nicely placed
    Tricks to play
    Hiding places
Large dark room, and dark niche in tunnel wall, both great for hiding and ambushes.
    New music and sfx
    10 Deathmatch starts
Hole in time ("hey, is it 1 a.m. already? I could have sworn that I've only been Deathmatching for half an hour!")

    Won't find:
    New graphics
Places to commit suicide (crushing ceilings, ooze, or barrels)
Monsters Death traps (places you can't get out of)
Split teleporter pads (bad floor alignment)
Nice people who aren't trying to blow your arse off.
    Boredom
    GRAY4 or STARTAN3

This level contains a jail, which I thought was a novel idea until I saw WADODETH.WAD. Still, you can't see out of mine to defend yourself, so I think that at least that much is original. You can also escape, but it's not as if you're going to have time to do so, what with your opponent waiting for you with a loaded rocket launcher...

You start with a weapon right off the bat, or at least within runnin distance. All weapons appear on all difficulties. Either -ALTDEATH or Nightmare is suggested, for ammo reasons. For health, there are five medikits, a soul sphere (be careful getting it, though), a beserk pack, and about 20 health potions. Those should heal you.

  14. Kick Yo Ass!

Kick Yo Ass! is a DOOM I deathmatch only level without any monsters except your friend-become-prey. It's stricktly move fast and kick ass from begining to end. The level consists of another arena (12 sided) surrounded by a deep moat (below) & hallways (above). One Teleporter at the bottom of each hallway entrance will transport you to that hallway (you can also jump accross from above and achieve the same thing). There is also one Teleporter in the central arena take you to the Holding Bag. Weapons, Ammo and Goodies are all over the place depending on the Skill level chosen at start (The higher the Skill level, the nastier the Weapons. There are windows accross from the arena which access semi-secret rooms with invisibility spheres and other goodies. These rooms are also accessible through a door in the hallways. They make for good ambush sites. The players start in one of the four connected hallways above the arena or in one of the semi-secret rooms. They will each find plenty of weapons to start them out (Nobody should get the upper hand). This level is great in DEATHMATCH 2.0 as well as regular Deathmatch.

  15. LSMULTI1.WAD (wow, what a name!!)

Well...hells bells. There aint a story in this one at all. I made it some time a go but it proved quite good for multi-player (2-P)....Since it was so old I had to rewrite this as I never had this pretty little template back then! Anyway, hope you like it... I know it is a bit plain but it was a quick knock together and only the second or third I ever made!! Check for some of my new ones...

Deathmatch playhouse. Lots of "detail." Many sniper/hiding areas. Also many interesting, pointless "trivial" features. NO MONSTERS except one DEMON in a cage. 5 MAIN areas: Catacomb area, military "snipers" area, Museum "BFG" room, Bridges, Shrine of the All Seeing Eye.

  18. KENDM2.WAD

    PWAD file for E1M1.

Again, designed from the ground up for deathmatch only. This is a bit smaller than the last and tends to be 'frag happy.' Again, mostly everything you do will cause some sort of noise to alert the other player as to exactly where you are. Be careful and have fun with the rockets.. :)

Again, probably too small for anymore than 2 deathmatch players.

  19. KENDM1.WAD

    PWAD file for E1M1.

Designed from the ground up for deathmatch. Most actions/acquiring of a weapon cause a sound so you generally know exactly where other players are based on the sounds they're making.

It's been played for (thousands of) hours with two player deathmatch - it may be a bit small for 4 player deathmatch.

Great WAD, solidly nails that fantasy castle crawling feeling, not too rough on the player nor overly stingy/generous on supplies, encourages good use of items, plenty of navigation and switch puzzles as is apt for Heretic, but also lets loose with a little slaughter.   Some areas could use slightly brighter lighting, and sometimes the next switch or door isn't signalled too well, but overall a fun and feisty fantasy fight fest.

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this is a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.
