5 stars. Not so much because it deserves it (it's OK but nothing special), but to compensate for the overly harsh reviews it has been getting just because it's made by ShadowRunner.

He asked for opinions in the forums. There are even comments about how to fix several things, though for some reason he didn't bother fixing most of them. Instead he decided uploading it half finished here with many design flaws left. Finish your work before uploading it here!

Poor Shadowrunner, he tried hard on his levels, and was cast out of the community. Shame. Stars for sympathy -5

Although the author has been treated perhaps too severely in Doom community, these maps deserve no sympathy. They are full of awful newbie mistakes and the author ought to stop uploading his levels until his mapping skills improve considerably.

These are stand-ins for E1M1, E2M1 and E3M1, respectively, in the spirit of "Fava Beans", "CH Retro" and "Classic Episode". Whereas those projects succeeded, this falls short. Why? Mostly, perhaps, because the maps too closely resemble the originals. Other than that (save from a few texture alignment problems and tutti-frutti effects) they're not all that bad. With a bit of polishing they could have been worthwhile; as they stand, they are of real interest for nothing more than nostalgia. --2/5

Unimpressive. They might have been cute in 1994, but not ten years later. The layouts have a bit of promise - they're not just identical copies of the originals, and there are a couple of new ideas - but the maps are generally inferior, e.g. the opening room of E3M1 is just a small square, the last half of E1M1 feels weird and wrong, E2M1 is a pygmy travesty of the original (which was one of my favourite maps).

Utter shite. If you were making Doom for the NES these levels might tax the system, otherwise they're just simply-made ugly noob maps. 1/5

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this is a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
