About This File

This is a patch WAD for Neodoom which replaces the Vixens with the infrequently used Cycloid Emporer enemies. Why? Because the Vixens are outragously overpowered and completely obliterate the balance of this fun WAD. NOTE: The Megavixen in map27 is untouched.

Why you took out the vixens? I can kill them easilly on UV, 2 in same time. Brazilians HardCore \n/ò.Ó\n/

Not great. The game gives sufficiently ridiculous weapons to deal with them anyway.

command macro "kill vixen" > this wad. Yet another example of cutman's shitty wads.

I am not sure whether I would use the patch or not. From one point of view yes, some of the vixens are sometimes extremely hard to kill even after using the BFG nuke (do they regenerate their health? I don't know..), from the other side I really love those huge sprites, so it is a dilemma :) 3/5 - Optimus

No permission was needed for this patch, since it doesn't contain anything from Neodoom. Having said that, there is no way to make the awful Daniel's ugly wads any fun, so this is pretty much pointless anyway.

Why couldn't you make a new monster instead of no-assing it? (Yeah, no-assing is worse than half-assing or even quarter-assing!)

NeoDoom is great and this is ok. Play NeoDoom!

I think this mod is a bad idea - simply because the Vixens are perhaps one of the central parts to NeoDoom's more wild challenges, and definitely justify the presence of the nuke BFG weapon. 1* because the patch itself does work

That's just show us how easily people don't care about permission. Daniel haven't said anything like "Go ahead, make this patch". You just suck.

Cutman just tried to help who is having problems it the vixens, if you didn't liked the idea, simply avoid this patch, also, you guys are begin rude at cursing Cutman just because of a patch. 2* because i suspect that cutman didn't asked permission to Daniel to make the patch.

Gonna have to 0/5 this one. Subjective gameplay qualms do not a good unofficial patch make.

I don't see why everyone sees this as a huge crime, it's not like he's edited the real neodoom and forcing you to play with the patch. If you like the vixens go ahead and avoid the patch completely! I agree with the idea though, I remember playing coop with some buddies and being overwhelmed by the amount of vixens, and keep weapons was off so we were basically screwed near the end of the game. 3/5

http://www.doomworld .com/idgames/index.p hp?id=14359. According to most reviews, it appears to be a "love it or hate it" megawad.

Well, you could at least tone down their health from an insane 10000 down to maybe 3000 - 4000.

Guys, you do realise the Vixens had a ridiculous amount of health due to a typo in the first place? It's hardly a crime to fix something that's broken.

I approve of this patch, they were out of place anyway

Great WAD, solidly nails that fantasy castle crawling feeling, not too rough on the player nor overly stingy/generous on supplies, encourages good use of items, plenty of navigation and switch puzzles as is apt for Heretic, but also lets loose with a little slaughter.   Some areas could use slightly brighter lighting, and sometimes the next switch or door isn't signalled too well, but overall a fun and feisty fantasy fight fest.

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this is a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.
