DooMBoy Posted August 2, 2002 How does one rip sound files from games such as Quake 2? I was thinking if I could rip the pump-action shotgun's firing, and pumping sounds from Quake 2 and put it in Doom2, I would be very happy. 0 Share this post Link to post
Spike Posted August 2, 2002 WinTEX v4.3 can rip sounds from Q1. Not too sure bout Q2 tho. Hope this helps. 0 Share this post Link to post
Kid Airbag Posted August 2, 2002 There might be some sounds already extracted around places like Elbryan's FTP. 0 Share this post Link to post
DooMBoy Posted August 3, 2002 There used to be tons of sound wads you could download from there. But they don't seem to be on the main page, and the ftp loads up slowly, so I didn't bother to find out. What I did get was psxsnds2.wad, ripped by Elbryan himself. I love PlayStation Doom sounds. They bring back so many wonderful memories.... Anyway, I merged psxsnds2.wad and Doom2.wad together, so now whenever I run Doom2 using ZDoom->PSX Doom sounds! Joy! /me orgasms 0 Share this post Link to post
The Ultimate DooMer Posted August 3, 2002 Well, if all else fails you can get out the stereo and record the sounds onto a tape, then use Audio Rack or similar program to create your own wave files. (there's probably an easier way, but I don't know what it is) 0 Share this post Link to post
