cant play doom 3

 so i got doom 3 from the xbox app on windows 10, clicked the "play" button and....some window called "DOOM 3" opend and closed not even 1 second afterwards, so can anyone help me please?

I would honestly recommend the steam version than the version from the Xbox app.

on my experience source ports made the game really unstable for me reaching the end of the level just for the game to crash wasnt worth it and is the reason why i dont use dhewm 3

If you have the game files ('base' folder) already just download a source port. Dhewm3 for the original or RBDoom3 BFG for bfg edition.

• fhDoom (discontinued?)

 

For Doom 3 BFG

• RBDOOM 3 BFG
• DOOM BFA <- I recommend this one (and it's forked from RBDOOM 3 BFG)

now that i played doom 3 bfg, it was not woth it AT ALL, i got it for free and i still want my money back, and guess what? i have 2 more dlcs to play, what a fucking treat

id only recommend a sourceport if u get issues with the vanilla game, vanilla works just fine even on w10 and ur gonna miss out on some mods if u use a sourceport
