neubejiita Posted July 6, 2012 What if we just drop a thermobaric bomb on Mecca and vaporise all of the worshippers in retaliation then? In the name of the Emperor? 0 Share this post Link to post

Maes Posted July 6, 2012 Related to the "multicultural world" thread, Islam often is claimed to be the most multicultural and least racist of all religions. This is true, but there's a catch that it only work one way: Sure, they don't care if their devotees are black, yellow, brown, white or whatnot, and conversions from any previous religion are welcomed and encouraged, and don't count negatively under any circumstances. Under that sense, they are quite more tolerant than current Christianity or Judaism. However, remember that one-way affair I mentioned? Once you're a Muslim, it's IMPOSSIBLE to leave Islam, and it is punishable by death. Even worse if you "defect" to another religion. That's where its "multicultural" tolerance exhausts itself: it only works "inwards", not "outwards", so their ideal "multicultural" worldview is one where everybody can be what he wants, as long as he/she is a Good Muslim (and nothing less/more). 0 Share this post Link to post
Gez Posted July 6, 2012 Also, there's a special tax on non-Muslims. So, sure, you can keep being a Christian or Jew or whatever if you don't want to see the Light. But you'll have to pay extra. Are you stingy and miserly? Then you've gotta convert. 0 Share this post Link to post
myk Posted July 7, 2012 Maes said: With the big difference being that in the vast majority of the Christian world practical considerations eventually trumped religion and their societies eventually grew out of such dangerous extremisms and found a balance (except in certain parts of the USA, including Born Again Christians and Amish). Don't say, the citizens of the financial downtown of the world are reasonable or practical and the people of its shanty towns are ignorant or crazy?! 0 Share this post Link to post
