This is at least 10 times better than the first one. 5/5

This really is one of the best and spiritually truest follow-ups to doom 2. Come on, let's see a Hell Revealed III, now that would be hardcore. 8/5

What happens when you morph E4 style maps with E4M2 difficulty + D2 monsters and piss on the original HR which was hard but actually fun? You get HR2, it's overly angsty sequel (for all we know it could be a prequel ala DMC3) that went from challenge the player to just "kill the player on sight". I played UV on the original but I enjoyed it. I consider myself a Doom masochist; HR2 actually hurts. 2/5

One of the best wads I have downloaded. I loved almost every level, and levels were pretty detailed.

This wad is not bad, but some of the maps are god damn the worst ever. Around The Inmost Dens II, the map are so bad, its a joke, and it feels that way until 29, which is awesome. Nothing like HR1. 3/5

Weird map. Didn't see a chainsaw, but didn't see a need to save ammo either. I got stuck in a non-damaging unescapable pit, so 2/5.

I played it more than any other wad, including vanilla IWADs in the old times. Also, it absolutely, really kicks ass with AEoD 6.

Shouldn't have been called Hell Revealed 2. With the exception of handful of the maps, the wad just didnt have that HR feel to it. A lot of the maps, particularly the later ones, felt like a drag to play, and simply aren't fun. The music, while decent, particularly sounded too serious, unlike the more fun sounding music from HR1. If you want a real HR2, play Kama Sutra, as that generally captured the HR feel a hell of a lot more than this disappointment.

Could have been more faithful to hr (like ksutra was) but this is a damn great megawad on its own. 5/5

Hell Revealed 2 came to be the long awaited wad that didnt do it for me. Perhaps it was the feel of maps too architecturally "advanced" (yet majorely mundane) for the gameplay it wanted to host, the lacking spark of creativity in the homage maps or the filler levels. Simply put, to me this was overkill and lackluster. Chrozoron holds the highlights with some creative creations like map29. Not enough to save the wad overall however, and it gets a 2/5 from me. -Johnsen

Monumental and awe inspiring, you'll be proud you made it through! I remember actually experiencing shell shock at some point through this... Together with its prequel, the Greatgrandmother of all slaughter wads!!! 6/5?

Brutal! This megawad has some of the most insanely violent and tough levels I've ever played (maps 29, 32, anyone?). Unfortunalety, I think the design pales in comparison to AV and HR1. For me, there were a bit too many maps that were copies of HR1 maps and some others (maps 13, 27 and 15 are actually quite shameless ripoffs). But when you call your megawad Hell revealed 2, you know that expectations will rise beyond any calculations. It's still worth playing though. 3.5 stars rounded up to 4.

Monster placement reminds me of a jokewad. Archies in the first map and Arachnotrons in the second? Come on, that's not hard. That's just cheap. You'd have more luck beating Mock 2 fair and square without cheating than beating this mess of overpopulated and cramped maps the same way.

A rather uneven mapset. It has some great maps ("The Chapel of Black Granite"), some forgettable ones and some terrible ones ("Beyond the Sea"). Some, like "Base Blaze", make you question how did they even get into this mapset in the first place. Not exactly as great as the original.

An excellent wad and a must-play, but unfortunately not quite as good as the revolutionary original. 4/5 --Woolie Wool

Who cares about how it looks? I still love this WAD, some levels are plain epic, map 29 "Hell's Cauldron" is pure epicness. Great music, epic setting. Best map 29 I've ever played. Still, nothing beats the insanity of map 32 'Playground'. Still, it is possible on UV... Insane as it might be. HR II is one of the greater megawads out there, even today. HR, AV, MM I, MM II, The Rebirth... All great megawads and HR II can take place amongst them, it deserves it. 5 stars.

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this is a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
