I feel like we’re talking to a bot or some sort of poor AI script, or someone who has a very limited understanding of the English language, or it’s all three.

The hell kind of insane troll logic is this? You can't make a claim and support it by restricting everyone to that claim.

Also the id Software folks demonstrably played Doom with a mouse. All the demos are recorded using one.

Not being very familiar with Technicolor's earlier posts, this reminds me of the "How to fix obscure IWAD header error" thread (except in that case I'm relatively certain that was a human spammer testing the limits to see what is considered normal posting or not, as the defensiveness was very similar to other human spammers on other forums I've seen when they get called out)

Because you are arguing with a developer of the current official release of Quake 1 over the Quake engine having similarities to the Doom engine because of a random gameplay similarity.
