So far I've completed E1 and a few maps into E2 and my thoughts are: It's really cool to see an "official" new wad, with some of those alpha resources. That very first room in E1M1 with the chairs gave me a huge nostalgia hit of firing up one of those old alpha builds back in the day as the design was no doubt paying homage to that specific design. I've had fun blasting monsters as Doom by default is anyway, but some of the maps feel... a little weird, and not super intuitive in design, maybe my standards are high after playing nearly every megawad but there are just little things in the layouts that make things seem super un-obvious or as if the layout was designed "well" but not with a fun aspect of gameplay at the forefront if that makes sense. It's not bad by any means but there have just been some areas and moments I've thought "that's odd". Kudos to Xaser tho, and the MIDI is fantastic, currently rocking out to E2M2/Map09 midi and I genuinely thought it was James Paddock midi!:

The scoreboard in multiplayer saying "kills" instead of "frags" makes me die a little inside 😫

Anyone else think the mouse feels very floaty and kinda shitty? Also the lobby/server browser is not great. You have to go into each game individually and only can you browse the online games of _that_ particular game. There should be a lobby/server browser on the game menu and it just say what game it is in the server info. Also you can't sort the lobby/server games by ping or name or type etc. Been trying to tell people to still stick to DSDA-Doom or even *shudder* GZDoom but the appeal of play time stats, trohpys/achievements etc are too good for some people. Ease of use as well no doubt I guess. Would definitely like to play Legacy of Rust outside of this port.

Up to map8 atm and fucking loving this. Super fun wad so far.
