...by the way, here's some good movies I recomend for you guys to watch this weekend:

-Pi

A black and white indie film about a guy who finds a number that: makes computers aware of their selves, is the name of God in Bible Code, and can predict the stock market.

-Apollo 13

Cool because you know that the guys survive, but it's still suspenceful.

-Orgazmo

A hilarious Matt Stone film about a Mormon in Hollywood who gets a job as a porn star, while trying not to let his girlfriend know.

I haven't seen it but apperantly there's a scene in Blair Witch 2 where you play the tape backwards but the characters aren't walking backwards.. scary.

Bill Murray - "Did you invite that kid to your party?"

Son #1 - "Max Fischer? Come on, dad. There's gonna be girls there...I'd rather die."

Son #2 - "Pull yer head outta yer ass!"

::Murray suddenly reaches into the back seat to discipline his foul-mouthed son...::

i rented that once, then went and bought it shortly thereafter...that is movie making excellence.

What about Platoon? Amazing war movie.

Fifth Element is awesome, too just for the stupidity of it all.

Get Carter - 'nuff said. That movie is just awesome.

Blade - c'mon, you know you wanna

Good Morning Vietnam

Gladiator

Replacement Killers...hell, anything by John Woo except MI:2

Mission Impossible 1: Amazing movie. Beats the living shit out of it's sequel hands down...too bad you can really only watch it once.

Predator series

Alien series (well...3 and 4 are not that great, but you gotta watch #2 just for the messhall banter)

Spawn - kinda stupid, but the SFX rock.

Heat

The Jackal

12 Monkeys

Die Hard trilogy

The Quick and the Dead

Unforgiven

Get Shorty

High Fidelity - seen the movie, read the book...I already own the movie, and it actually does the book justice, but the book is still better

Bladerunner - "DO androids dream of electric sheep?", to paraphrase the title of the novel that this amazing movie was used as a springboard for...and it DOES do the book justice. One of the best movies I've ever seen.

True Romance

Desperado

The first, and ONLY the first Jurassic Park - the rest were bloody awful.

Black Adder series - Funny as hell...even as funny as Monty Python. I shit you not!!

That's all I can think of for now...Oh, and yes, Pi was an exception to the rule, very, VERY well done movie.

The special effects in Spawn just plain sucked - Nothing was done to look believable. Here's hoping that Spawn 2 isn't as bad as its predecessor...I heard that it is going to involve a 'Se7en'-type murder story...

people are speaking of Pi now.i should get it as soon as i finish the test.but what kind of movie is it?drama?it seems to be not so well known mocve.a little more furthur information should help me finding it.

jurassic park-it's good for first time.after that the computer-animated dinosaur is no longer immersive.

anything directed by Oliver Stone is normally awesome.

Patton is also an awesome film, expecially the beginning.

if the SFX in Spawn were made to be believable, the AA rating would've been bumped up to an R rating...And if Spawn 2 involves a Seven-type murder story, well, then it at least is starting to follow the comics.

Exactly. Spawn is inherently 'R'-rated material.

And if Spawn 2 involves a Seven-type murder story, well, then it at least is starting to follow the comics.

Amen. Supposedly the plot will revolve around Sam, Twitch, AND Spawn, instead of just plain Spawn.

Just like the comics...I personally liked the animated series. Looked liked the comics, felt like the comics. And, they didn't hold a damned thing back like with the movie...although I haven't seen the Director's Cut, so who knows?

I saw some movies this weekend:

Trainspotting - This movie was pretty damn cool, even though it was about heroin addicts in Scotland...about as different from me as you can get. I'm guessing it was done by the people who did Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels, another great movie.

Curse of the Jade Scorpion - Probably the worst Woody Allen movie I've seen. If you want to see a good Woody Allen movie, see Sleeper, Bananas, Deconstructing Harry, or Small Time Crooks.

American Pie 2 - About as good as the original...you can infer what you want from that. Both movies were pretty funny, but the characters are morons, in my opinion.

Apocalypse Now - I saw the directors cut letterbox edition on PPV, which ran from about 8:30 to 11:30. HOLY SHIT...what an awesome movie...it may just yet replace Full Metal Jacket as my favorite Nam movie. If you see Apocalypse now, look for a young 'Larry' Fishbourne. Hehe...

I also saw Clear and Present Danger on TNT, but it sucked...not worth mentioning, really.

And as for the Matrix, it was a pretty damn cool movie, yet not quite as original as one might belive. I mean, Dark City came out several years ago, and it was all about an alternate reality. But The Matrix is still pretty damn cool. I'm listening to the soundtrack right now. :)

Now Pi...that movie sounds pretty cool...I gott check it out. I'm starting to have to watch Indie films nowadays, seeing as how I've seen all the Hollywood movies by now. I gotta stop this '3 new movies per week average'. :)

That's what makes it funny. Why can't Stiffler be my next-door neighbor?

I'm listening to the soundtrack right now. :)

Yes...very good soundtrack, indeed. I'd listen to it right now if it wasn't for the fact that my girlfriend has it. Dammit!
