Once again,Eternal delivers some of the best that can be achieved with the DooM engine and it's source ports:Beautiful maps with excellent new textures[loved the Alice ones!];good, solid gameplay and a creepy, foreboding atmosphere.I liked the new Icon of Sin twist, though it it took many deaths before I figured it out.Thank you! 5*-d.d.koop P.S:When are you going to finish Remain 2?

An example on how to make an atmospheric WAD. Every bit deserving of its Cacoward mention. Nothing could top of the mood better than the Alice music.

Spectacular otherworldly levels, and good solid plutonia levels mixed into a pack. Any level individually was very good (though I didn't fight a single enemy on MAP06... presumably due to me working the puzzles out first time), and the lot together was legendary. Another fine feather in Eternal's cap - 5* - Phobus

Absolutely brilliant! Very atmospheric, and you go to "timeless zones" and the version of hell here is the best I've ever seen. What a last level! How epic! This wad could be better than both deus vult 2 and epic 2. Absolutely brilliant..... I am in awe...

Bug in hell (yard near final - a celling on sky mised). Also plytonia style levels not good company for great maps like 1,4,6-7, but the wad is great 5/5

5/5 for maps 04 and 07 alone. Alice music is rad.

This is a mixture of "surreal" and very modern-ish maps with beautiful and bizarre detail and nice editing tricks along with a different type of levels that is a lot plutonia-influenced. The two types of style here are completely different, but they both rock. 5/5

Really good, some of the best looking maps I saw (not all maps are eye candy tho, map 2 is really basic and bland looking, especially coming after spectacular map 1). Gameplay is superb, varied, never boring or frustrating.

>Bug in hell yard near final - a celling on sky mised Thanks. Fixed version is available at least at Germany mirror (49 755 903 bytes). Some unaligned textures on maps 4 and 7 also were fixed.

Just WOW. Maps 4 and 7 are as much impressive as they are big. I want to eat some demos on map07. 5.5/5 (5)

Some very impressive maps with nice texturing and music. I wasn't sure what to do at the end though because I was shooting the wrong eye :) 5/5 dwrTag

Very atmospheric mapset. Difficulty is standard for the most part, with the occasional hard fight here and there. There's a "new" monster, but it's well balanced and blends in perfectly so don't worry if you usually don't like that kind of stuff. Clever Icon of Sin fight, too. 5/5

Great WAD, solidly nails that fantasy castle crawling feeling, not too rough on the player nor overly stingy/generous on supplies, encourages good use of items, plenty of navigation and switch puzzles as is apt for Heretic, but also lets loose with a little slaughter.   Some areas could use slightly brighter lighting, and sometimes the next switch or door isn't signalled too well, but overall a fun and feisty fantasy fight fest.

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this is a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.
