About This File

This map was originally intended for CC4 but didn't make the cut which is unfortunate considering how much time I put into making this one. It's a mainly linear level that takes you for a journey through a large green cathedral.

Quite impressive despite being repetitive. 4/5 - Demonologist

it should be 5 starts if there's no missing textures. 2/5

Huge work - 5/5. However, monster placement can be better (too many popups, huge open areas with revenants is soo 1996), little architecture variation (repetitive, color), no adventure feeling. Got bored after half an hour or so. All in all I simply didn't enjoy playing this wad as I did with many others: 2/5. Overall: 3.5/5 as it is now. Sorry if you don't like my opinion. BTW even with a cc4-tex.wad I grabbed from the net there still are some missing textures.

Despite cc4-tex.wad not being included and the necessity to use zdoom, this was a pretty fun and grandiose map to blast through. I would have went with some other color than rusty brown as the secondary color, but still 5/5 -lupinx-Kassman

This is a 4/5 wad... but! -1 for the lack of text file in zip. -1 for it being map19 and -1 for having to download the resource wad. 2/5

Needs Zdoom (or a major bugfix), despite this not being indicated in the txt.

The author certainly failed when he didn`t include the .txt, but withdrawing points because of that? I thought this place was meant for reviewing the levels, not the authors actions... Very huge (1200 or so monsters IIRC) and very green map. I have a feeling this wasnt playtested enough. Some layout changes and other design choices would serve this map well. It isn`t bad, but it could have been much better, in the gameplay department that is, because it looks very nice.

Great WAD, solidly nails that fantasy castle crawling feeling, not too rough on the player nor overly stingy/generous on supplies, encourages good use of items, plenty of navigation and switch puzzles as is apt for Heretic, but also lets loose with a little slaughter.   Some areas could use slightly brighter lighting, and sometimes the next switch or door isn't signalled too well, but overall a fun and feisty fantasy fight fest.

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this is a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.
