I present to your attention a pre-beta version of the first episode of the project "EGREGOR: Vanilla Edition", consisting of 11 passable maps.

Plot:
You play as a mercenary commando who has traveled to Earth's satellite, the Moon to be overseer of maintaining order in a branch of the UAC. After the incident on Phobos, Deimos, and Earth, the corporation has been working out their failures. Despite the "taboo", the corporation's Board of Directors decided to develop convenient compact teleportation devices with the way "Orbital Center - UAC Headquarters" to reduce the enormous fuel costs and recognized Earth-Moon shuttles as an expensive technology. By freezing the terraforming of the satellite, a huge cash flow was freed up...
On Day "X", an overseer with vast military experience and rescued on ships during the The First Invasion (DOOM II plot), takes over for his subordinates who are sick with something, as a recriut, on one duty, not far from the main hu. But, after falling asleep from boredom, the hero wakes up to a noise in his left ear! "Oh boy!"

In the archive you will find a packaged bundle with source-ports Chocolate Doom and Doom Retro + a separate folder with the main WAD file of the project, and deh modification. Deh-mod requires EXTRA.WAD file to work correctly!

Don't forget put your DOOM2.WAD in the folders with DRetro and/or Choco!

To play on modern source-ports, for example with Beautiful Doom, is enough only file EGREGOR_EPISODE_ONE_(PRE-BETA).WAD, it is found in the folder for_modern_source_ports and, after reading README, unnecessary questions will disappear.

Friends, I'm waiting for your feedback and bugs! It is necessary for me to continue and please you with my work!

Source-port: Any (!) (I recommend DOOM Retro or Chocolate Doom) with my little dehacked modification! You can understand how to run it properly yourself by clicking "Modify" on the .bat file and seeing the startup parameters.
Using modifications for Doom 2: Any (!) except levels
IWAD: DOOM2.WAD
Difficulty: Ultra-Violence only!
MP/deathmatch: no points and spawns yet, delayed until the release of the first two episodes!
Jumping and crouching: Forbidden (!) ZScript protection included, because wad designed for Vanilla Doom 2. And I'm so lazy to make MAPINFO lump...
Not tested in: DOOM2.EXE (MS-DOS / Dos-Box)

Demos for all maps

It was OK but maybe a bit bland. I guess my main problem is that you're using way too many gray\white textures. As a result, the whole thing looks almost depressing in my opinion. The detailing\texturing is also kinda messy (by the way, maybe instead of this you could do this). It's hard to explain but I feel like at times there are too many textures\details visible at the same time, so the rooms don't look pleasing to the eye.

But there was some cool stuff too. I found the SSG drawing on the floor brilliant, the damaging flames were a nice touch, the green area in Map02 looked good (if a bit dark), etc. You have good potential, it is clear that you're putting a lot of effort into your levels and you have some interesting ideas. But I think it would be great if you aimed for more "clean" visuals. Well, it's not an easy skill to acquire, so naturally it will take some time. Keep up the good work. :)

And damn, the new chaingunners are strong, man. I think you shouldn't use them in large groups. And don't put tons of pinkies into small rooms. These are just boring to kill.

The project continues. Now 32 levels are being made, compatible with any ports up to and including Chocolate/DOS DOOM. Two levels are complete, with plans to release the first episode (11 levels) by the end of 2022.

These maps are pretty fun, my only complaint is that it is sometimes hard to tell how to keep going because the switch you need to find is very hard to see. In fact it took me a long time just to get out of the first room in the first map because the switch you need to press is a tiny gray switch on a gray wall, and the door it opens does not have a door texture. With so many different textures in each room, and lots of sector detailing, and doors that sometimes have door textures and sometimes don't, it can be hard to figure out which wall you need to click on. It's fun to explore these areas, with lots of secrets and surprises to discover, sometimes I just need a little more help to see where that next door is.
