No, just because *composer you like here* no longer works on a videogame doesn't mean that the game will automatically be bad. You seem to have an obsession with trying to prove that the next doom game will be bad. Despite the fact that we basically know next to nothing about the next installment. First, there was the story thread and now this? If the game will be bad, it will be bad not just because of the music or the story, the real heart lies in the gameplay and design. If someone replaces Mick Gordon, how does it matter especially since Id has already did that (Andrew Hulshult, etc.). You are just worrying too much about really inconsequential things.

Why was he necessary!?!

hmm. never really thought about Doom 3. But, does any other weapon hurt npcs in the game? (genuine question since I know next to nothing about Doom 3)

not really sure about that. The BFG, if it was real would definitely also hurt your friendlies and others caught in the crossfire. It's just that Doom didn't have any friendlies.
