    Freedoom needs more attention

I actually use it on my phone simply because it's better than the official Android app both in terms of control and flexibility. The levels themselves are also really good once you get past the first 5 or so maps.

What's your favorite WAD and why?

    Alien Vendetta Going Down Sigil
  3. Make all the Zombie guys more zombie like. Being able to shoot body parts off, getting back up after being knocked down etc. Imps would be partially on fire. I saw this cool art work of this and its the first time that I've ever thought that they looked good. Also faster projectiles, they're too slow. Demons, I think are fine but I would fix their height, when they're in front of the player they look like they're maybe 4ft tall but next to a zombie man, they look as big as a bear. Doom 2 did a better job at making heights look consistent. Pain Elementals and Lost Souls, Doom 64 fixed them both. Revenant, I think Brutal Doom fixed these guys. I would give them better crawling animation though. Hell knights and Barons, faster projectiles and also a more varied more set. I would have them being able to smash through some walls. Also make them look bigger Cacodemons, give them more attacks. Mancubus, more animation frames and random attack spread. Master mind, make her Chaingun more like Brutal Doom, have her move more like a spider and have the telekinesis that was cut.
  4. I would love them to release a version of Daikatana with all its issues sorted out. I've not played it but heard that as bad as it is the concept was good but suffered from poor execution. The Turok and Hexan games remade with modern graphics.
  5. Thinking about it, there are two soft locks that I'll need to address. 1. You can fall into the water in front of the building near the start and not get back up. 2. And I've not yet changed a really silly lift after a cyberdemon fight that if you fall off you have to idclip your way out of. I'll send over the promts later. The lighting is a bit shit and I can probably add more enemies. I need to add energy barriers to the Icon of Sin fight. The only thing I added that was my own non chat gpt ideas are a series of teleporters to help you get around the level because it's huge, and people would have a hard time moving around apart from that it's all me trying to figure out what it was asking for.
  6. Okay first draft is here. There's still a lot of things here and there that I want to fix but you can play a mostly complete level below: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nWfLZPVQdqEyBR2bjkykDHpuvkyHdkHd/view?usp=sharing Updated
  7. I definitely will be handing something in later today. I need to sleep now but I've got alot done today. Just need to populate the map. And go over some of the rooms.
  8. I'll hopefully be done by tomorrow. Sorry for taking so long, it's not been a smooth process.

Why do people say plutonia is hard?

Not sure if you meant to quote me or not but I agree with you. With Dooms limited assets, I understand why it does not happen so much though. Something that really helped Solar Struggle achieve this was Violent Beetle's leadership and more importantly the fact that he had a very solid plan of the level order and locations that all tied in to a rudimentary story. Stuff like starting in a prison, repelling down a tether attaching the floating city to Venus etc. The overall concept definitely impacted the stuff I added to the level I made for it. I think anyone that wants to start a community wad that achieves the same results could do with reading through Solar Struggles development thread ideas on how to structure their project.

Why do people say plutonia is hard?

It's the hardest of the official Doom wads. You have to put it in context. Doom 1 feels ridiculously easy now but when it came out it was challenging, bear in mind that it popularised fps games, so many people were learning not only how to play Doom, but a completely new genre of computer game. Each new Doom release raised the stakes, this has carried on with unofficial releases so most of us don't realise how much the difficulty has increased over the 30 years of dooming.
  11. Absolutely love E4M9. Pure genius!
  12. I don't have the file with me otherwise that would have been a great compromise. Thanks for the offer.

    Fear of no recognition

Truth be told the ability to promote yourself and your work is an important part of success, sadly many of us grow up thinking of it as a negative thing. I know I always did. It's the reason why so much of a Hollywood movie budget goes on marketing. It's just not realistic to expect people to search out your work without any kind of prompting.
  14. Sorry for the late reply. I've been trying my hardest to get this map done in time but no luck; the map is quite large. I'm close to finishing but I'm flying out today and won't be able to work on the map until the 10th when I get back. I would like to finish it but I understand if that's too long a wait and you decide to free up my slot.
