Hellish episode. Ammo tight, challenging encounters, Cacochase!, creepy catacombs. Best 95' episode.

Some pretty ok maps blended with some of the most annoying maps I have ever played, so score dropped to 3, despite e3m7 being worthy of a 5. Why do people do this? K(eep) I(t) S(imple) S(tupid).

Not too bad for 1996 map set. Worth the play.

Very very very good, but not legendary.

There's a map in here which has blocking torches placed on UV. I don't get why you'd want to punish players(seriously what) for playing on UV. The maps are decent for the most part, although it does start out pretty rough. 3/5

^ Torches are there to make the map more difficult on UV (you have to go back to start and fight cacodemons). Makes sense to me, UV should be harder than other difficulty levels... Anyway, this is a great great episode in my opinion, the design and gameplay are good and very varied, there are many interesting experiments/ideas and overall Back To Hell presents a good challenge even by modern standards. I love it.

An awesome 90's Hell episode like few I've ever played. These maps aren't pretty, but they have really original ideas and traps, as well as a lot of secrets. I feel like this PWAD really captured the Petersen essence without being too ugly or derivative. 3.5/5

This is one of the best wads ever made because of the possibility of getting 112% secrets.

Actually quite good. The first two levels are ' lamish '95-levels but E3M3 and after that are better and have quite innovative design solutions. Try E3M4 for cacodemons.

This episode deserves a lot more attention. I found myself thoroughly enjoying it. It's rare that anyone sticks with the hell theme like this pack. The game play presents a few challenges, and the ammo placement is good for a 90s WAD. The Cacochase map is one of my new favorites. This is definitely a change from all the boring base levels out there. 4/5

This is like the Amalgoom project 20 years before it ever came to be. Amazing little map.

A fun idea, a fun execution, and even more fun gameplay. Wonderful. A must play.

Great WAD, solidly nails that fantasy castle crawling feeling, not too rough on the player nor overly stingy/generous on supplies, encourages good use of items, plenty of navigation and switch puzzles as is apt for Heretic, but also lets loose with a little slaughter.   Some areas could use slightly brighter lighting, and sometimes the next switch or door isn't signalled too well, but overall a fun and feisty fantasy fight fest.

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this is a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.
