Wiki article for Judgment Day

Thought I'd point out that I finished a massive wiki article for Judgment Day, the 1995 Microsoft Halloween party that featured the final rounds of Deathmatch '95, antics by GWAR, a Texas band called Society of the Damned that seriously offended MS PR, the infamous video of Bill Gates superimposed into Doom, and various other shenanigans. There's been a lot of historical interest in this event in the past, but nowhere that just gathered up the sum of knowledge about it from available sources. I started researching this a few years ago but it took me a long time to get around to putting the article together.

Nah. Not really. BSOD still haunts my dreams. This is Win 98, but this stuff happened all the time.

Slightly OT : yeah I remember Windows 95 BSODs.  But thanks to the "power tools" I was able to change the colors of them. For me they were GSOD : green screen of death for both Windows 9x :)

Only for the UK Heats. I have never found a complete bracket for any other portion so far.

It's time for a real research! I just want to understand how it was and that's all. I could be wrong while I was trying to identify these people.

I'll note that McCandless indicates that Joe Wilcox (Sillysoft) was a "semi-finalist" but that seems difficult to reconcile with the brackets as otherwise known so who knows what he actually meant by that.

 

EDIT: he also claims Merlock had two byes. Then again he spends 90% of his article ribbing on Merlock due to the guy's notorious reputation for self-aggrandizement and trashtalk on Usenet so who knows if that's factual or just meant to make him look worse.
